Selecting domain name for my new blog

Hi,

I want to start a new blog. But as usual .com extension is not available. I am thinking of .guide instead of .com as my blog would be a guide on a certain niche. But I am confused whether it would be a good selection or not? How does a domain extension can effect in SERP.

Looking for suggestions.

It does and it doesn't at the same time. I'm not too sure on .guide as I've never used one myself.

There is nothing wrong to select .guide as this will be very relevant to Domain theme of name.
