Old times (80s-90s) were the best... and simpler... and funnier... and wittier... and more of everything.

Also, this sitcom (Seinfeld) never ceases to make me laugh no matter when I (re)watch it. This episode in particular I think I've watched dozens of times and each time I watch it - even though I know it by heart already - still pulls smiles and giggles out of me...

And these scenes in particular are at the top of my list of favorite Seinfeld scenes, and they all got put into the same episode, just for my convenience :)

yeah, I did hear about CYE, a lot of people mention it when I bring up Seinfeld, but for me that show doesn't do it, I don't know why (maybe the fact that it's written by LD and in my mind this forms the image of cheap plagiarism... or maybe because the cast is not charismatic enough / doesn't have a lot of chemistry like Seinfeld's 4 main characters have with each other, I really can't put my finger on why it doesn't appeal to me, but I could finish watching a single episode)

But Seinfeld.... well... this will leave forever in my memory (and it better did, or else....) :p

I think they’re quite different - in my opinion Seinfeld has a bit more of a storyline and like you said - more chemistry between characters so I think it’s the type of show you really follow and become invested in.

Whereas CYE is less about storyline and more just about humour and situations (more like a book of short stories).

But for me I just like that type of humour (where I’m not generally a fan of TV, or comedy) and something about Larry David just makes me laugh.

hey, if it makes you smile that's all that matters, that's the main purpose of sitcoms and comedy shows :)
 
Seinfeld is a classic, also Fraiser one of my top shows from the 90s. These days there is basically zero interesting comedies to watch thanks to these idiots who cry on the web after every joke.

yeah, man! ZERO interesting ones.

Well, it's true that I've never been a big TV guy to begin with (and I also stopped watching TV in 2005 after Steve Irwin had died, his show had been the only one that had me turn the TV on at that time), but I know what you're saying as this is general consensus among my friends too. Even they can't find anything worth watching on TV anymore...

Anyway, thanks God that I've had to inspiration to download my favorite entertainment some 20 years ago and I can re-watch it offline whenever I get nostalgic about the good 'ol days :)
 
CYE never did it for me either. As funny as Seinfeld is I get into a lot or Kramer moments.

skit #1 - was waiting in line by car to push in the security gate code to get into a large residential condo complex. Nothing is happening with the car for 2-3 minutes so I start honking loudly two car lengths behind so we can get in. maybe they're waiting for someone to come out, or worse health problem. it's 95 degrees and I usually turn off the a/c 30 secs before I drive in and park as it's supposed to help its longevity. Anyway, the person in the vehicle finally rolls down their window and attempts to put in the code. Didn't work so he gets out of the Camry, driver's side, and is huge like a NFL linebacker, WWE wrestler arms. I'm like oh, sh_t I hope his windows were up with music and he didn't hear me honking. To make it worse, after I saw him grilling from my lady friend's condo balcony. His unit just happens to be the closest out of 5 three-story buildings of 300 units in the complex in terms of direct line of sight to this WWE guy's balcony. A Kramer phobia the guy will remember him.

skit #2 - I went to Trader Joes as usual. This particular cashier just rushed through scanning my 10 or so items, and confirming the price is virtually impossible on their screen. I bought a small bottle of water but she charged me for 12 which is a whole case. I was lucky to catch it and had her correct it. Then as I go out, I thought I may was well check the receipt and she charged me 2x for some produce. So I go back in the store and get a refund for the overcharge from the manager. I had to pass that same cashier as she had a customer and I think she saw that I went to the mgr. So now she'll remember me and have it in for me, posisbly overcharge me in the future. A Kramer type phobia of the over-charging cashier. This is what comedy is all about. Making fun of life's daily situations. Larry David and Seinfeld are brilliant.

Almost every single character on that show was hilarious except for George's later in the series annoying wife. I love Elaine's character and a had friend like that. Some of my favorites were: Elaine and the Chinese food delivery person. Jerry and the man-hands woman. Them waiting forever to be seated at a Chinese food restaurant. Of course, Citra's spectacular sauna moment. Kramer letting gay thug thieves steal furniture he was watching for Elaine. Elaine and that non-stop barking dog at night, and the Soup Natzi.

I basically stopped watching once the CSI series stopped then regained some hope with the Blacklist until they network canceled that great show.

Kramer is my least favorite character (probably because his scenes - albeit still very real life-y - look too silly to me, I'd much prefer the witty, intelligent and sarcastic remarks of Jerry and the unlucky situations that George finds himself in, these things do crack me up like nothing else :p )

But yeah, many great characters on this show.... and the one-time apparences are so good too.... maan, the entire show is 10/10 for me... I don't like all of the scenes (and I am pretty picky normally), but the positives in this show are so many and so well-made (both written and acted) that I simply refuse to find anything bad about this show :)

on the contrary, I think she'll be careful not to do it next time or she might get fired. But God knows how she'll react in these uncertain times we live in...
 
It's a classic love it.

But I felt the last season was rushed though. Didn't like the final season.

But I like re-watching the initial material and the first few seasons the most.

Also his recent special was unnecessary imo(not his best material).

yeah, the first (3) seasons are my favorite too, towards the end they've started fooling around... at least that's what it feels like to me, I have a friend who prefers the latter seasons. But hey, whichever part you like I'm cool with it as long as you enjoy the sitcom :D

not even one episode?? Not even out of curiosity / boredom????? I don't believe you, even the haters have watched at least one episode.

Still, you are missing out on the best sitcom ever created, and I'm talking about something that you re-watch 20 times and it never wears down regardless of number of re-watches. Seriously, find the full seasons somewhere, download them and binge them.... although, you are probably too young to be able to relate to the 80s and 90s, in this case I kind of understand why it might have no appeal to you :)
 
Love that show so much, its really funny. Imo, the recent sitcom that can match this is Modern Family.
