seesaw.com launched today and is appearing in google at position 1 for many keywords relating to on demand tv etc.

    My Question is:

How can a website have top position in google for keywords the second it launches?

Do they contact google and ask them for that position, is there a manual method for getting to the top?

Can google really work that quick without some intervention?

Even high pr backlinks take time.

I heard about this on the radio a few hours ago, I'm curious as to who is actually behind the project and how long it has been in development for.

In regards, to being on the front page, it's not that surprising to be honest. With thousands of agencies, media outlets and bring brands talking about the website and Google's strive for "quality content" it's quite understandable that they are in the top 10.

Also, let's not forget they were in Beta for over a month prior to today's release.

I think this site was based on a project started by BBC, ITV and Channel 4 (the british terrestrial networks, Five doesnt count). That project was canned due to competition or some shit, so basically SeeSaw bought it up and released it.

Not sure how the PR works though as the BBC doesnt have a link to them...just the name. Im sure some expert here must know.
