I'm sure I'm not the first person to think about this, but I haven't seen anyone asking this question. Since G has devalued or even put a penalty on backlinks such as spam comments, article directories, and forum profiles - What if everyone started building those type of links to the big online retailers like Amazon, Overstock, JCPenny and so on? That way, when G alters its algo to discount those links, they hammer the major retailers as well. And in turn, the retailers complain that they shouldn't be penalized since they can't control who links to them. But I am not trying to damage or knock down those retailers, only block or neutralize G from devaluing those types of links. This could effectively neutralize G from discounting those links. Any opinions?
