Something in my life came up recently and i need to move 1000 miles to a city and get an apartment within 1 month.i currently work for 1 cpa company and my income varies greatly.

i am busting my ass and making money to make the move but i am very worried about getting an actual apartment.

i have a tax form showing i made ~3k from oct-dec 2010. otherwise no proof of income because i just use paypal for payment. i could show my payments from my cpa company but i do not want to do that because there are periods where i was slacking and not earning a lot due to laziness.

i read online about faking pay stubs to get an apartment if youre self employed. how dangerous is this? i don't want to risk charges over something stupid.

any advice is GREATLY appreciated. this is a big point in my life and i NEED this to happen.

edit: I also have negative credit from being dumb when i was 18 :(

I would suggest you take a loan out

Use that as a proof for your new apartment.. and than simply pay back the loan immediately with your earnings from cpa before the interest

Forget the cliche about loans

if you pay them back immediately they are perfect for situations like these

I appreciate the reply, +rep

sadly i dont think this is possible because i have bad credit right now

Try and get about 3 month's advance for the apartment. They won't bother about any other stuff if you Show that you have the cold hard cash.

Then Just make sure that you have the money for month 4.

Have you considered renting an apartment first and then buying one after your income is solid?

that's unfortunately not an option. i have to get make the money and move to the apartment in about 1 month.

my income will be solid i'm not worried about that, it's getting the actual apartment before i move and being able to prove my income to be approved for the apartment is what i'm worried about

edit:
right now i'm leaning towards the fake pay stub method. but what good is it if the paystub is from a job from my home town? the manager will know i don't have a job in the said city....

i've never got an apartment before so this is all very foreign to me. i just know i have to make it happen, one way or another.

I think that you worry too much. You will get a place to stay. Don't worry about that too much really. There is millions of people with bad credit. and you don't see hundreds on the street. If you are going to a place for employment. Just get a letter of employment from them, specifying your monthly income that you are going to be paid. And you will have to rent first.

Think Black Hat...

get google voice number
with area code from new city..

Forward to friend back home..
give your friend the info he must tell the people.
Give your reference as your friends name but with
a different last name...
ex your friend i john smith.. put john brown..
when they call asking for john brown and from
the google number...
you will know its them...

When the people call.. your friend gives you great reference...
say you get paid in cash... but he will sign form if they need
verification....

enjoy new apartment...

thanks for the replies. now maybe i can relax and somewhat know that it will work out one way or another.

well, if you have a loved one that will add you to their bank account you will absorb the history of that account. when you print the previous months statements you name will be on there as well. thats pretty typical when it comes to verifying "seasoned" assets.
