Seeking Clarification: Will Guest Posts without Traffic Help Improve Keyword Rankings?

Hello fellow SEO experts,

I hope you are all doing well. I have been engaged in various SEO practices for quite some time, and I must admit, I am somewhat confused about a specific aspect of link building. I would greatly appreciate your insights and expertise in shedding some light on this matter.

My question revolves around the impact of guest posts without traffic. As we all know, guest posting is a widely used link-building strategy to acquire backlinks from external websites.

However, what I am unsure about is whether guest posts on websites without much traffic or low domain authority can still positively affect my keyword rankings. In other words, can these backlinks from low-traffic guest posts contribute significantly to my SEO efforts, or would they be less valuable than links from high-traffic websites?

It's more like PBN domains without traffics from what you are saying. Check whether the sites for spam score, metrics and domain history before acquiring backlinks from those sites. PBN links have a great impact on boosting your website authority.
 
Undoubtedly, sites which do not have traffic for themselves will not help you with traffic. I will still buy such a link under specific circumstances.

If the domain has decent metrics (DA and DR) + don't have enough traffic + you are sure that the metrics are not artificially inflated, then you can still buy a link from them provided they offer it for very cheap. You should negotiate it well with them. Such links are good to make your backlink profile rich and provide link diversity.

I am not saying you should only buy such links, but having few of them will not hurt either.
 
Guest posting for sites can enhance keyword ranking, which is an important factor for SEO. The impact of guest posting is higher when the site has a large and relevant traffic volume, compared to a site with low or irrelevant traffic.

Yeah, it does seem more like a PBN. I once tried using PBN links on my money site, and I saw a negative impact on my website's performance. Since then, I have completely avoided using them.

I have come across many sellers offering guest post backlinks at incredibly cheap prices, but I often find that there is little to no traffic on those websites. While their domain authority, backlinks, anchor text, and spam score may appear satisfactory, the lack of traffic raises concerns.

Suppose all metrics, such as domain authority, backlinks, anchor text, and spam score, are fine, except for the traffic aspect. In that case, I'm unsure whether acquiring backlinks from such sites would be beneficial or if it could potentially harm my website's SEO.

So, you mean these websites will be fine if I use them with more caution, like checking all the metrics? But, will these websites help me rank my keywords? Yeah, they are fine for diversity because these websites are very cheap in price and also easy to get.

Backlinks alone are not the only ranking factor, in fact a badly optimized and/or content would find it hard to rank with or without backlinks.

Now, to your question,
Buying backlinks is generally a form of gamble, you can't say for sure that any backlink would rank a website because you are not Google and you're not the one at the backend toggling the ranks of websites. But when you want to buy backlinks, you want to reduce the chances of that act being a gamble. The point I'm trying to make is, when you buy backlinks, you want to make sure the site you buy links from have what it takes to pass some link juice. While a site without traffic can pass link juice, a good portion of those without can't pass anything since their inability to gain traffic is predicated on the lack of authority or as a a result of a penalty or very bad content.

You're more likely to find a penalized site, or poor authority domain or very bad content among sites that aren't ranking(and pulling traffic) than among those who are ranking and pulling traffic.

The practice of buying links from sites with traffic is a method to play it safe and make every dollar spent on links worth it. You don't want to buy links from a site without traffic thinking it would pass link juice, only for it not to pass since it has none. But when you are buying from a site with lots of relevant organic traffic, you are sure it has some authority to pass since the evidence is clearly visible to everyone.


In a nutshell, some sites without traffic COULD pass some authority, BUT how would you know it is that one you're buying from? You can't since even the content it hosts aren't ranking.

That's why it makes sense to seek placements in high authority and relevant news and magazine sites which have traffic and great authority, the combination of which can do wonders in pushing the keywords up in the SERP.
 
It won't help. You're better off investing in forum links here and there.

Do not expect much from them. These will not be top class links. The main purpose to have them is link diversity. If in future these websites grow and evolve into something big then of course you will be benefited because you already have your link placed there.

This is exactly what I want to say. Do not build hundreds of them, but having handful will not hurt and will not leave a hole in your pocket.
 
Without traffic, guest posts are not likely to make a significant impact in keyword rankings. The quality of the post, its relevance to the target keywords, and the authority of the hosting site all contribute importance of how effective guest posts are at building backlink profiles and domain authority. The potential benefits are limited without traffic and engagement, and a comprehensive SEO approach involving high-quality content and reputable backlinks is generally more effective for improving keyword rankings.
