I hope you're doing well. I am reaching out to this community for advice and guidance regarding my career journey.

A bit about myself:

- I am 43 years old and currently working as a **teacher** in my home country, which is considered a **developing country**.
- My salary is quite low, and I'm seeking opportunities to improve my financial situation.
- Recently, I’ve started learning **programming** in the hopes of transitioning to a more lucrative career.
- I understand that **AI** is a huge field right now, and while I’m not planning to dive into AI immediately, I believe it's an area that will only grow in the coming years.

That being said, I am wondering if anyone here could share their thoughts on the following:

1. **What areas in programming** could someone like me focus on to secure remote job opportunities, especially in the short to medium term?

2. Are there any **courses or resources** that are well-suited for a beginner, and which can be helpful for someone coming from a non-technical background?

3. **Is AI truly as future-proof** as people say it is, or are there other fields in programming I should consider that may provide more immediate job opportunities (web development, mobile development, etc.)?

4. **I’m also wondering if it’s possible to find a team or someone to learn with, even if it’s for free**, so I can gain experience faster. I'm very motivated to improve my skills and transition to a more stable career, and I believe learning with others could be beneficial.

Yeah i feel i am lost i started learn python but i feel its kinda hard.
I am supposed to be a professional in python?

programming is somewhat of a scary area for future outlook. some say the profession will eventually / gradually die off except for specifically seniors it may be reduced. however, everything always moves slower than expected, at least for society, so there are probably several jobs still to be gained

for remote job opportunities, it is kind of endless. scripting, automation, web dev, cybersecurity is probably the biggest industry that is going to keep increasing and needing manual attention

Are there any team i can join it even for free to have experience i watched alot of videos but i feel lost i need practice

Hey! It's excellent that you're working on improving your talents. If you're just starting out in programming, I recommend focusing on areas with a lot of remote work, such web development (frontend or full-stack) or mobile app development. These fields generally have job openings faster than AI. FreeCodeCamp, Codecademy, and Coursera are some of the platforms that offer classes for beginners. You may learn alongside other people for free and get more hands-on experience faster by joining online coding communities or study groups like Discord, GitHub, or Reddit. Stay on track and work on tiny projects. This will help you make a major change in your profession.

Someone told me full stacj will disappear soon and hard to learn beside ai automotation is better
The problem is i saw alot of opinions and dont know which one to start i already started python and libraries

the only thing i can recommend is that you will have to reach out to different security firms and see if you can find a position or check if people are hiring. but watching a lot of videos is not really enough for this kind of work. you will have to do a lot of practicing and testing on your own which will also be useful to show the companies you may want to work for

tart with web development or python these give remote jobs faster. Use free resources like freeCodeCamp, CS50, or Automate the Boring Stuff.

Py is a good place to start, there’s always need for automation and scraping, and python is by far the best framework to work with.

Programming is easy now, thanks to having an ai buddy. You don't need to hire anyone, just sub to claude or chatgpt. You'll have a buddy that knows more than any human buddy can know!

The first thing if you want to be a programmer is choose what languages and frameworks you want to work with. This takes time so don't rush. In the olden days you used to study a language for a couple of years to get good at it, and be able to use it, but now since ai will write most of your code, and you just have to udnerstand it, the time is not a factor.

You need to pick a quality IDE and development setup too. Thats half your battle. Then you can just watch tutorials on youtube and talk to ai. If you want a formal indtruction and a set route to follow. I recommend the courses when they are discounted on udemy.

I think ai automation will be the best for me since i donlt like full stack cause i have to learn many languages

I'm a .NET software developer, and I have mainly worked with web applications such as Web APIs, .NET MVC, and other backend components. I'm currently looking for a job. I’ve noticed that the job market has changed — companies are no longer looking for just “basic” developers. They often want subcontractors who can handle everything: developing and maintaining the client’s system, gathering requirements, proposing solutions, planning tasks, and implementing them. It seems like they expect one person to do it all.


When I started my career, things were much simpler. There were different people responsible for client communication, project planning, and design. I know that some companies still work that way — where developers have fewer non-technical responsibilities — but such roles are harder to find now, and I’m not sure how to look for them. Maybe someone can advice me?

What areas are important nowadays?​

Here are some of the most commonly mentioned ones:


1. Application Infrastructure

• Knowledge of a cloud provider such as AWS or Azure
• Docker
• CI/CD processes (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)

2. Web Application Implementation (Backend)

• Programming languages such as C# or Java
• Understanding of HTTP and other protocols
• REST APIs
• Authentication and Authorization (JWT, OAuth2, etc.)
• Databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• And many other topics — you can find plenty of backend web development tutorials online

3. Web Application Implementation (Frontend)

• This is the UI side of applications, often built using JavaScript frameworks such as React.js or Next.js
• Knowledge of a frontend framework (React, Next.js, Angular, etc.)
• You can find good tutorials online for frontend developers

4. Full-Stack Web Application Implementation

• You should have solid knowledge of both backend and frontend (points 2 and 3)
  

I think starting with frontend development (point 3) could be a good idea.

The backend usually requires learning more concepts and technologies, so it can be more challenging at the beginning. Frontend development is generally easier to get into and helps you see quick results of your work, which makes learning more motivating. Once you feel comfortable with it, you can always expand your skills to include backend technologies and become a full-stack developer. Also, I know that even with frontend-only skills, it’s already possible to find a job in many companies.

I’m not sure if React is the best option in your area — it might depend on what’s most popular locally. You can check job listings to see which frontend frameworks are in demand where you live; that should help you decide what’s worth learning.

I’d add that focusing on real projects early helps a lot build small apps or websites while you learn. It makes your skills visible and builds confidence faster than just doing tutorials.

Si u think fullstack is better than python ai automation?

Another approach is to pick a specific niche, like e-commerce sites or simple automation tools gradually create a portfolio around it. Even a few polished projects can make you stand out to remote employers.

1) Download the Cursor app and purchase the paid version for $20.

2) Then create an account on GitHub and deploy an inexpensive VDS for your projects.

3) Understand what CI/CD is and set up auto-deployment of your changes to the server.

As a result, you will be able to create working code directly in AI through Cursor, deploy it immediately, and see the result.
There are many applications for this, depending on your preferences.

Yeah, fullstack feels more rewarding early on since you can actually build and see things.
