Ya, there is nothing wrong for the software developer to use that name since none of the words are copyrighted. However, it just shows that the software developer is lack of creativity.
Not only that, the software developer has no confidence on the software itself and try to leverage on other people's brand. Shame on him.

Just so that we can all benefit from the beta usage of the tool, where does the tool exactly shine in usage? Not a knock against it since we have no idea besides a video of how it works, but what is the USP for this software package? The price point? The diagram link builder? Is there anything here really that is new and world changing about building links in the seo sphere or is this more of the same old, same old? I like Clyde and like his software (it's pretty damn stable), but it seems that a lot of his stuff comes AFTER another dev has already made the mark for a certain toolset and he's faced with coming in at a certain price point just to compete. Any insight into how this tool compares against the more mature ones would be great.

Where is the brand involved. Everyone can use the word "seo and backlinks". Same thing goes to "SE" and "demon"
Software is yet to be released. No one, other than beta testers knows exactly the usage of the software. It is really unnecessary to talk and describe about the software to public now itself. You will see real reviews and how this software compete with already existing softwares will be known very soon.
And blaming creator without having any idea about what he was created exactly is really bad plot.
At the end of the day, everyone is going after "cheap and best thing".

If he's going to compete on price like his bookmarking tool, it's going to have to be pretty fricking low. 2 year license for UD comes in at $14.46/mo after that it's just $6.13/mo every 2 years.
There certainly is a market for that just like there's a market that his bookmarking tool serves at a third of the price of the market leader BD.

$97 is a bit pricey for an introductory price in my opinion. Magic Submitter is cheaper and packed with a lot more modules (not to say very stable as its been around for years). I never liked SE Nuke to begin with. Over priced and has half the features and capability of MS. Shoot, even UD is better than SE Nuke in my opinion. The just have great marketing.

I received that mail too. And the price is $47/month and not $97 !
I really think SE Demon is a great service and will definitely be a competitor for senuke. But let's give it some time xD

Has somebody tried it yet?
I have a couple of questions about SEDEMON.
1. Does it have a preview button (and spin again button) in all the modules so I can see and test how my content looks like in each module like senuke or ud have?
2. When I chain a social bookmarking module to a wiki module - is there a way that it only builds social bookmarks to the live wiki sites? I mean there is no point in building links to dead links I guess. Senuke has the toolbox module for that to filter out only live links.
3. Are they going to include Article Builder as source for content. I mean the Turbo Wizard looks exactly like the one from Senuke xcr but what about the content? Would be nice to have the option to select the content source there as well.
4. Are there any kind of tokens for link placement within the content? Or is there going to be a contextual link feature where I can setup a group of keywords and urls and once the keyword is in the content it links it to one of the urls listed. I should be able to say how many links (min, max) I want per submission of course.
5. What is the biggest difference beside the price point between sedemon and senuke xcr or ud?
6. What is the biggest advantage of sedemon compared to senuke xcr or ultimate demon?
7. What are future plans for this software - what features are coming?

No monthly subscription for me. I purchased a lifetime license for $88.00
For the price that I paid for a lifetime license, going through some hiccups etc are going to be just fine with me. Besides I own a copy of all of clydes products and none of them have left me feeling dissapointed.
