Securing IG account after purchase

I understand that the seller can claim the account back if they have the OG email, but what if they used a phone number to create the account? How can I tell what they used to create the account?

If they did use a phone number to create the account, is it just impossible to secure the account?

It will be enough to add 2-step verification and pass the founding e-mail to yourself.
 
There are 2 ways: verify phone number or email, just verify email is ok

If the account comes with access to the original email, change the credentials to the og email. You can also change the email on the instagram acc.
 
always buy ig account with email.
after you get email and ig account please change password for both, and add two step verification.

Sadly there is no direct way to know if a seller signed up using a phone number or email. Make sure to keep the account safe. Change the password right now. Use 2 factor authentication for more security. Look for any linked email addresses you can get into. Reach out to the platform support if there is unauthorized access. Even if you used a phone number you can still get control back through account recovery options. Keep trying.

They will mention what they used to create the account.

If the account comes with OG Email, Do the following to be 100% secure :

1.Change PW for OG Email.
2.In OG Email, Add Backup Email, use one of your Primary Emails.
3.Add Phone Number in the Email.
4.Set 2fa ON for the Email. (Make sure your Backup Email is secured too properly)
5.Now go on IG and Set 2fa with Google Authenticator.
6.Add your Phone Number and set SMS 2FA also.

You are completely secured now:)
 
take password for email too. and set 2fa.
also buy accounts from marketplace. they have good reputation so you dont have to worry about it.

You should always buy accounts with email so you can change it afterwards.
 
if the account was created with a phone number and the seller still has access to that number, there is a risk they could reclaim the account. The best course of action is to immediately update the phone number, email, and enable 2FA, making sure all security information points to you. However, if the original phone number remains active, securing the account is more complicated.
