Hi there,

I am looking to find a few answers in my quest for mining some cryptocurrency.
I live in UK and to be honest, besides Ebay I couldn’t find anything affordable here. As I saw on some European sites, probably because of Brexit, the prices for hardware are ~20% higher for delivery to UK - guessing Import taxes.
Does anyone know any hardware supplier based in UK with decent prices?
On another hand I would be happy to find out anyone’s opinion on what I should get (and for what coin) based on an initial budget of about £500. I’m not looking to find products here, just asking for generic names.
Also, as I read till now that I will be needing a PSU (if not included with miner) and power cables. Is there anything else I need to know about - I’ll be happy to see different views on this.
thank you for your time guys,
C.

GPU alone costs around 500 pounds

Well, yes you are right. I’m looking for ASIC.

What kind of Asic do you want to buy? It's a little late if you want to mine equihash.
With 500£ you will only lose money with basics.

You might be looking for, and want, an ASIC but that's not going to make you money. Any ASIC available for 500 pounds will be used and outdated, no one sells a profitable ASIC for that price because it would be dumb. I mean if you had a device that can make say 100 pounds a month, are you going to just use the thing for 5 months or are you going to sell it for 500 pounds? You'd use the thing until it no longer was profitable, right? You're going to sell it when the profit is like 10 pounds a month and you milked every pound out of the thing.

500 pounds puts you strictly in the "going to slap 1, probably used, GPU into my existing desktop and mine with that" camp. ASIC route is going to be thousands of pounds on the hope that you can get a first batch of ASIC.
