...so I have a site that I want to rank for a long tail keyword something like ( How to get rid of acne ) and currently is on the 2 place.I built a lot of backlinks lately and nothing changed...So by mistake i checked in google for the keyword with every first letter in caps (How To Get Rid Of Acne) and i'm on 1 :) I also checked the keyword with only the first letter in caps(How to get rid of acne) and I have the 1 spot :)

I searched in google for How to Get Rid of Acne
and for how to get rid of acne

and the results in top 10 are slightly different...The sites on 1 and 2 are the same in both searches but from position 3 they are different

Now if you by any chance wonder why i used the keyword with every first letter in caps...well ... when i first built the site i was editing something in wordpress and I copied the title from all in one seo plugin and pasted in scrapebox, amr, senuke .... to use it for anchor text

    Strange... I get different results.

    Edit:

In Internet explorer and Firefox 4 the results are different when i use caps... however in google chrome the results are the same.

Don't use your browser use an external tool to check. Results are based on your search history depending on the browser you use. Or try clearing cache and re-test.

also when testing with your browser make sure you log out from your google/gmail account. If logged in your sites and any sites your recently searched for will appear ranked higher.

I think the important question is whether the search volume differs by capitalization. If a keyword in lower caps is being searched twice than a keyword in caps then you are in trouble - in case you were optimizing for the latter.

The results are the same for me, you should log off of your account or create one with the web history thing deactivated, I think that does it. And at least in google's keyword tool, there was no difference for my capitalized or uncapitalized exact match queries in terms of volume or whatever.

This is how you turn off personalization in search results:
Add "&pws=0" to the end of Google search result page URL and press enter. By doing this, the returned search results would not be affected by your search history.
