what is the difference between search engine marketing and internet marketing ?
 
Search engine marketing (SEM) is a form of internet marketing that involves the promotion of websites by increasing their visibility in search engine results.

Internet marketing, also known as web marketing, online marketing, webvertising, or e-marketing, is referred to as the marketing (generally promotion) of products or services over the Internet.

Good question. Search marketing or SEM (as mentioned by a previous poster) is a marketing niche where a website is promoted using search engines. This includes advertising through Adwords or some other PPC service.

Internet or web marketing is more of a blanket term that encompasses SEM and a variety of other tasks. Internet marketing involves building a consistent web presence for a brand across the internet. This may involve being active on social media, producing videos, blogging, creation of external properties, SEO, SEM, and SMO.
