hello, why it is good to add the 4 versions of the website URL?

https://
http://
https://www.
http://www.

Can someone say why it's better to add the 4 versions instead of the one that i am using?

and, if i add all versions, when sending a sitemap, do i need to send the same sitemap on all versions?? or when sending an url, do i need to repeat the whole process ?

I just add the https version, why bother adding the other 3 if my site is only https based?

Perfect answer.

Except you reently moved your website from http to https, there is absolutely no need to add all four versions.

One, choosing your preferred domain: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/44231?hl=en (ie www vs non-www)

Two, being able to troubleshoot any canonicalization, technical, or off-page SEO issues.

Three, creating properties sets of all URL versions: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6338828?hl=en

Reason one is the most legitimate, and something you should definitely do. 2 and 3 are optional concerns.

Personally, I verify every single secure and non-secure protocol (ie https) and www/non-www subdomain.

For international SEO, be sure to register all sub-domains and subfolders per their language, and then use international targeting for those properties: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6059209?hl=en
  • Then, for a more holistic view of the domain, create property sets for all languages/regions.

enforce your actual protocol like http or https via .htaccess and make others to 301 to proper one. Also submit site map with your proffered PRotocol
