Scripting my way to income

I do suggest you get an offshore host that doesnt care about the legit kid-propaganda. Where someone just dm's your host and kills your vps without even investigating. I highly recommend it. It might save you some trouble down the line.

Yeah - hosting isn't really an issue as I don't actually host any of the files myself. It's more that getting visitors to the site is the problem.

In that case I do suggest cloudflare to atleast proxy your origin ip

Already doing that as well :). Still getting blocks of spammers that send 333 requests to various wordpress holes and vulnerabilities.

OK - long time since an update.

Basically this method has proved to be a lot harder than I first thought. I was able to write a comprehensive script that did all the things that I wanted it to, however, at the end of the day, I wasn't getting anywhere near the amount of hits on the site as I would have hoped, and I think that largely comes down to on page SEO for each video, as well as video selection. Two areas that aren't really possible with an 'automated' system.

Suffice to say once I had filtered out all of the bot / crawler traffic from my analytics results I was getting less than 10 hits a day on the site from actual users, but still maintaining that 80% bounce rate, which just isn't a recipe for a profitable system.

I'd be interested to hear any suggestions on what else I could try to turn this into a system that could actually be used by people, but for now I'm probably going to shut it down.

EDIT: I am working on something else that falls in this realm (automated site building) but I'm not ready to show it yet, this is going to be where it will end up though.

I always suggest doing a deep dive into an available data to see what are the issues and the opportunities. Google Analytics and Hotjar are your friend here. Perhaps looking into your pages to see what type of content was performing better with a longer session duration, lower bounce rate, better conversion rate (if any), where the clicks go, etc. Granted you need a lot more data for it to be conclusive, but you can start from the beginning. Wishing you the best!

Thanks! I've since ripped the site down and am starting again from scratch with a bit of a better source of data (I think...).

So I've been toying with the idea of creating an 'embed' tube, with videos from some of the popular sites (PH, XHamster etc). Sites that offer partner programs and the ability to earn for people visiting your site. And then feeding it from uploading to other popular sites (Xvideos etc) to get visitors. My only issue is that I have a very broad FQDN niche site name, which is going to cause problems I feel. (Why would a user visit MY site when they could get similar or better from one of the large sites.)

Anyway, something that I'm not sure people are aware of is that the partner programs give you access to the entire database for PH at least. Which gives you around 4M video urls to play with, the only issue is that it's a 9GB file, which isn't really useful. The other options that you have for extracting URLS from the site are less than impressive and frequently deliver the wrong orientation media (gay, trans etc when you want straight.)

So I'm left with somewhat of a quandary. I'd like to get a big 'ol list of videos together that I can use, but I want them to be at least a little bit filtered and not featuring things outside of my niche.

Has anyone here had experience with embed tubes? Am I going down a rabbit hole here?

Riiiiiight.

So after like, fifteen of these 'journey' threads. Here goes another one! I've been on this site for a long time now, and have seen countless threads come and go that have failed, some of mine included. I've built custom pieces of software that have gone unused, and just in general put in a lot of time and haven't seen any ROI on that time spent.

I think the process of failing multiple times has really made me ask a few questions about doing black hat work - whether I think it's really worth it, and what are the goals that I should set myself going forwards if I decide to continue.

The answer to the first question is:
"Yes, I want to continue doing BH stuff, it's worth it if you get the balance right."

The second question answer:

"Create something that people visit, use and interact with."

I have written this down and stuck it to my monitor. I want to really take a big step away from being income focussed, I think it is seriously detrimental to any venture that me, or anyone goes on. Having an income stream is nice, don't get my wrong, but plastering a website with ads, fake content lockers & all sorts of income crap is just not going to see any sort of money coming in. Making the income a secondary goal means I'm going to stay focussed on provided a service to my users that is something that they're going to want to come back to.

A little bit more on the first question. I think a lot of the reason why so many attempts at building something have failed for me and probably for a lot of you is that we set out with the best of intentions about investing time and effort into making it work. But it gets a few days, or even weeks in and the effort is still high, the time required is still high, but the response and user interaction is low to none, so we give up.

What if we could make that equation more level? time + effort = user interaction.

So, that's where my latest idea spawned from.

I've been around the "Porn upload" method for a long time, and being a programmer, have built so many different things that start really well but fizzle out as I don't tend to invest too much money (read none) in to my adventures.

Uploading porn is very manual when you don't have the software, hardware or time to put into sourcing good videos, spending time uploading to n number of sites and then a/b testing for if your account gets blocked or not.

So - I decided to go in a different direction. A tube site of my very own - but I gave myself a single very strong caveat. I can't do anything manually in respect to content. Everything needs to be done through a server side script or program.

My foundation is Wordpress, which is lucky, because there is the wp-cli. A command line interface that if you're a Wordpress user, you really should know how to use. It provides a huge amount of flexibility with it's functions and makes bulk creation / editing / deleting of posts & more a breeze.

After sorting out WP on my server (AWS for anyone wondering) I spent a little bit of cash on a decent theme (I know, breaking the bank. -$50.). I've also signed up to respective affiliate programs from Chaturbate, JuicyAds & CrakRevenue and been accepted into all of them.

Finally I went about how to source my content. Something that I'm not really at liberty to divulge right now, but suffice to say I'm not embedding, nor am I storing the video files myself. It's a third option that hasn't been done (afaik) yet.

I wrote a little bash script that would build a series of commands issued to wp cli that inserted the posts and scheduled them at 15 minute intervals. I also built two recipes on IFTTT.com which post to a subreddit that I've made and a twitter account. Finally - I started the script up on my teeny little aws server.

It's been ~2 days of new post creation and we're here:

Buuuut, we've got another 57,345 new posts to go before we've finished with all the commands in my master file.

In terms of income, I'm not really looking at that. Once I've gotten all the posts into Wordpress I'm going to go through and (programatically) add tags to all of them based on some random factors.

Finally I'm going to see if there is a simple way I can "Generate" meta descriptions of all of the videos & make sure that I'm going to be able to rank well in Google results for various long tail keywords.

I'll sorta give a simple breakdown of costs & anything else interesting that has happened. Don't expect frequent updates, but expect updates.

Pretty interesting read. I almost clicked out of it due to length, but a few keywords stuck out to me and I decided to read it. Sounds like you have everything planned out and organized, and a general idea of where you're at and what you're trying to do. Stick with it, persistence pays off. All it takes is one good project/campaign to set things off and start seeing good income. Over the years, I've started plenty of projects.. some failed, some abandoned after not being pleased with the results after a certain amount of time, and alot of projects that with persistence worked out good in the long run. Even on some where I was going to pause them, and even stop some of them all together but I stuck with them as I already invested a bunch of time in them and things took a turn for the better. With that being said, stick to it, you sound like you have your head on your shoulders.

Good luck.

i'm on the same boat, but I'm building the site around the traffic instead on a fixed niche mainly because I planning to get the traffic from tube sites.

9GB is not that much, just dump the file in NOSQL DB like Elasticsearch and filter out what really need.

Has anyone here had experience with embed tubes? Am I going down a rabbit hole here?

The problem with embed for instance on mobile is that on some tube site the user is redirected to the tube site;
that's a conversion killer, I saw this behavior on Xhamster.

I would fetch the url of the content and store that somewhere in the user browser and just serve the content en skip the embed thing.

Great ideas, I've already done the non embed thing, but interesting about the mobile conversion...

I've taken a different tact, bought a new smaller niche domain name, which I hope will bring in some more visits.

I'm hoping that my design skills hold up because I'm going to be making a simple bash script that will auto generate posts for my site.

I'll kkeep you posted

OK - small update, as I spoke about before I've been changing gear somewhat. After reading over a lot of discussions and thinking about things, I've decided to move away from trying to bother with my own tube site.

Frankly it's unnecessary and takes a lot of extra work to keep things going.

So I pointed my scripting and programming abilities towards something different. It's still in the adult realm, but more closely linked to the traditional upload methods that you see on the "Making Money" forum.

Something that I never wanted to do was have to open up N amount of videos to plaster a watermark on them and throw an outro in. After sourcing a few URLs from sites within my niche I had around 80,000 potential upload candidates. I'm not going to do that for EVERY single video.

I built a simple ffmpeg script that would do it for me, along side that I wrote a script that will upload the video to Xvideos once it has finished rendering the watermark / outro in along with a given title / tags / categories etc.

There is really very little manual work left now, the site that I am currently getting videos from isn't that good - it's got a lot of very low resolution videos that, while they fall into my niche aren't really going to get too many views (I don't think.) So I think most of the time I'm going to spend is on sourcing videos that are both high quality as well as in my niche.

Finally I still have a web server running - it's job is to field requests coming in from users that have seen the watermark on my videos and want to access the site, I span this a little so that I know which videos are doing well by adding a tag to the end of the URL in the water mark for each video which uniquely identifies it so that I can look back on reports and see which video has done well.

I'm currently doing a nginx 302 redirect straight from my FQDN to the money offer, which I'm not sure about. I don't think that's a very good approach and want to do it differently to gain trust in the user rather have them be whisked away.

Thoughts?

First I would keep the site and set up a/b environment and test the offer.
If the user doesn't like the offer you can redirect them to the site and track the user behavior and find out what you can sell.
This could help you to have a better view what kind of offer works on certain traffic.

Well - I'm a little suss that a lot of this traffic is crawler traffic / bot traffic but todays stats on CrakRev:

I'm not really sure what I can do to be brutally honest. I can't seem to get conversions with the CR smartlink. I've just changed one of my landing pages to a different offer in the hope that I might actually get some conversions but currently:

01/14/19
Click: 2307
Impressions: 0
Conversions: 0
Conversion %: 0.00%

Month To Date:
a24b3c338a50465cf050edc238802f00.png

It hurts to look at, but I suspect that it's not really all that bad. And I'm not getting anywhere NEAR the amount of clicks CR is reporting.

Maybe change what you are doing for your CPA offer? I have looked at CR in the past, the problem is users aren't likely to purchase porn they can get for free. Also, most of the offers require a purchase regardless of what actions trigger the conversion (submitting form, etc.)

1. Use a URL rotator service to display a random (but related) offer to users. Still relying on conversions though.

2. Replace your CPA offer with a direct link for CPM/CPA (Propeller Ads or Tabisi).

3. Look at an adult ad network like ExoClick to see what you can do. They have banner and native ads.

Thanks for the advice! I agree with you about the CR thing. Users aren't going to lay down cash when they don't need to. CPM/CPA seems to be the way to go looking forwards. I mean, I could try going back to Chaturbate, but I haven't had good experience with conversions there either...

If you weren't using an adult type of page, you could look at running an A-Ads banner and even RUNative ads as they have minimal approval guidelines. Popups are another option, if you want to go that route.

Take a look at swatchseries.to. They have RUNative banners on their pages. Something else to think about is using a video overlay ad (an ad placed over the play button). Look at some of the video hosts on the site to see what I mean.

Hmm, I am promoting adult though, that's the issue. I need A-Ads for Adult.

I've implemented a 6 way a/b redirect test on Chaturbate so we'll see how that goes.

I'm also tempted by putting the Wordpress site back on and just using Xvideos or similar as my "CDN".
