Not sure if this is the best place for this but does anyone know how to download scribd books without having a premium account or does anyone have a premium account and would be willing to download me a couple of books?

You need to register a free account and upload a file to share with others. Once you upload a file you gain rights to download.

I'll look into this and try uploading something. It can just be anything right?

Yeah. The last time I did it, I just uploaded some random PDF I had on my desktop.

don't you have to wait form approve your upload before downloading?
