Screen Recorder, Please Help

I need to record my screen when I am showing "how to" use he backend of my software but not sure which recorder to buy?

When I google it I seem to only find free ones, which I know will suck and contain watermarks

You can download https://obsproject.com/ for free. It was developed to stream games but you can also record your screen using obs without watermarks.
 
Camtasia is $299 (which I can afford) but it seems pricey since I dont need all of its features such as editing and whatnot...

I just need to be able to record my screen and talk
 
Here's one I use that was so cheap I didn't think it would be any good but its rock solid. I use it more than Camtasia now because it's quick, easy and lightweight

Yeah I use camtasia for this, does wonders and super easy to use.
 
Camtasia isn't really worth the price. It's good because it's simple but it should really be a third of the price tag. OBS is great for just recording (but you can't edit with it).

Movie Studio Platnium (by Sony) is $80, it's a pretty decent editor for the price. I don't know if it has a screen recorder in there. There's a trial (30 days I believe) so you can grab that and play around with it for free.

Adobe went to a monthly plan for their software now so you can get Premiere for $20-30 per month which isn't too bad. They have a free trial as well and if you just need to do some videos one time using the free trial of this may be the way to go (still need something to record with though I think OBS will work with this and it's free).

I use Fraps to record my screen. Works fine and is easy to use.
 
I agree with the person who recommended OBS above. It's the only good free recorder that outputs at a high quality. I can record 1080p 60FPS easily. And there's no watermarks :)
 
i use debut video capture software, its the best for recording screen movements and turning into instruction vids. I use it to make tutorials for clients
