Scraping videos from Youtube

I want to take some videos form Youtube and make a "new" video out of them. Now I know everybody is talking about Windows Movie Maker, but...

When I download Youtube videos I always get them in FLV format, is this format good? In which format you download Youtube videos?

And what software to use to little change or merge multiple Youtube videos?

YT videos are in flv format, and yes it is a good format to use

To add value to thread (I am not promoting anybody and not related with sites):

This site seems great for downloading YTB videos, online, without installing anything:
http://keep-tube.com/ - YouTube online video downloader, you can choose which quality to download, no email required

After that, you could go here to convert them to AVI so you can work with files in Windows Movie Maker:
http://video.online-convert.com - FLV (and many other formats) video converter, you can choose dimension, quality etc., no email required.

Heres a site i use clipconverter, google it. and its completely free and has all different types of download formats to choose from. i use it all the time. awesome for ripping HD quality videos

hi , I am new to this site, but I know that thing, if want, can buy any video converter for 30 euro or $, this thing downloads videos in any size without any convertation from youtube and other in mp4, and not in flv.

then there, there is the easiest tool to merge them in 1 video o vise verse.

I use real player, and real downloader.

It's free, and can also convert videos to other file extentions, with real converter ("real" is the brand, and comes bundled with all these other functions).

It works well, and the company is pretty big, they make regular updates to it (as far as I remember).

I'm using a free tool called "ClipConverter" to download movies from YouTube and use the content in my own movies.

Matthew woodward has a good tutorial on scraping videos from youtube and adding them into spun articles
