Hi all.

I'm the owner of content on a website from years ago (not my site but I have copyrights now) and so it would be relatively easy to get the content back off the site....wrong.

I have used https://domains.pbnhq.com/tools/wayback to get a zip of the website contents but when I upload this to a fresh Wordpress installation the posts/pages/articles do not show.

On WayBack they are fully showing and archived - the site structure works as it should - but when It's downloaded and uploaded to my own site it's like the articles are not there.

Am I missing something? It's having me scratch my head! All I am after is the articles/posts/pages and it seems like a mental task at the moment - being left with just copying and pasting each one when really I just want them on Wordpress so I can edit and export to my proper site.

Any real help (from those experienced please) would be great. Any free tool that I am missing (expired article no longer exists!)?

Please note before commenting - I only need help with the problem and not anecdotal words about 'well the articles will be updated by now so...." please!

Cheers! :-)

When you rip a site off the Wayback Machine you are ripping the HTML version. It's not compatible with WordPress. You either need to convert it to WordPress, copy and paste or pay a service to convert it properly.

Thanks for the reply @MaestroDelWeb - I think that's the problem. I can get it up on WordPress fine but I think it's probably an issues with the database etc. so I've setup a HAF for the copy and paste of it instead!
