Scraping Emails From "Keyword" Forums Then Submitting Offers?

Just Wondering how many of you do this?

For example, Let's say you find a forum dedicated to IPads.

Then using scrapebox, scrape emails from the forum,

Then send out an offer for your "Brand New IPad App"

I am assuming the conversion rate wouldn't be that bad since it's somewhat targeted?

1) Has anyone Tried this?

2) What is your conversion rate like/overall experience of this method?

3) What service would you use to send out these emails

4) Any other useful info you want to add.
