If you think you can rank for medium or high competition keywords in google.com using n0follow comments you are out of your mind. You can rank with comments (and generally other shitty links) in the following cases:
PR0 d0f0llow links pass tiny amounts of link juice. PR0 n0f0llow pass nothing. They just help with indexing.

Also keep in mind that it is not just about PR when it comes to ranking. - Weak competition
- You optimize for a local google (e.g. google.de)
- You think you only did n0f0llow comments but in fact you happened to get a d0follow one from a high PR page.
