Scrapebox - What's the gain? I don't get it...

I really don't use it for blog posting anymore, but I'm using it's tools like harvester, proxy harvester + other addons. It's a really nice software and it can do many great things
I agree 100% and I use it for proxy checking, addons, scraping etc. But I don't see what the point of all these scrapebox blast services is.

Apparently nofollow does give a small amount of juice.

Well you have to keep in mind it was launched in a time when blog comments worked more or less. Obviously n0f0llow comments don't do s#it for your SERPs. Many people (newbies) wanted a simple tool so they would feel they're doing something. SB was the tool and it has been very popular because of it's ease of use. In practice n0f0llow comments are a waste of time but then again this is what a lot of the noobs do - waste their time and pray to got hoping for a miracle. Comments are not of much help however SB is more than a comment poster. I think for $50 or whatever it costs it's worth the money. It is even useful for posting comments as long as you stay targeted to a specific topic (not spam on every blog and post, like a blind monkey) and if you use your own lists of d0f0llow blogs. It even has addons and some of them come in handy for certain tasks.
Basically a tool is just a tool. You don't rise in SERPs because of a tool. Maybe you could have in 2005-2008 but not these days. You need to have a plan and know what you're doing. Then, maybe you can look at the tools and see if any of them helps in any way. Lots of people just waste their time and money - i've seen countless threads on forums titled "I have $X what tools should I buy?". You don't buy or build tools because others do or because you have a budget. You do it because you need them.

I'm sorry but this is untrue. How comes I've got sites with nofollow links only that are ranking quite good?
Don't believe all those Matt Cutts lies, this guy is full of shit and many people already proved him wrong. Of course nofollow links aren't as powerful as d0f0llow links, I'm not denying that. But they are far from being useless.
It's also a bit too obvious if a site has d0f0llow links only, that's not what I would call a natural looking link building. So adding a few nofollow links is always a good idea.

I used to believe that comment spamming has become useless and uneffective. But as always don't always believe what's beeing told. The only way to find out is testing, testing, testing...
Over the last few months I did a test with trying to rank a site on a high competition german keyword. I used a wordpress.com subdomain (one-pager/litttle on-site SEO) and blasted it with a set of 5 different anchors on mostly english blogs (mostly nofollow with high OBL) on a semi-regular basis. I did the blasts about two months ago, then stopped for a while and when I noticed the wordpress subdomain entered the top 10 I started again.
Actually I didn't believe this would work - as I also have a highly optimized domain for that keyword with few quality links and lots of content, which I am unable to rank for that keyword.
So what's the learning for me. Scrapebox blasts still do have some effect. Note: The domain authority of wordpress might have an effect, as blasts might be more tolerated and Google might expect comment-links to be natural for wordpress blogs.
I still would not recommend blasting your money site directly especially if it is new, but I had good experience with pushing sites that link to you.

I personally never use SB directly on my MS. And if you are a bit smart you can still find do follow platforms to post. Also SB has a learning feature where you can teach him how top post on different stuff. Because most blogs are no follow then i only use it as tier2-3 in my backlinking campaigns, also it can be used to get sites indexed. My 2cents.

The amount of pr4-5 do follow blogs I find with scrapebox is crazy.Also mass posting still works quite well.Scrapebox is a must have piece of kit.

phew!! my heart dropped a bit after i read that. lol thnx for clerifying.
i use sb every day and every nite. my poor laptop is like an over worked slave. i have 2 instances of SB running right now and my comp cant do anything else except chat on BHW.
as mentioned, the addons are great. i use the rapid indexer a lot. i also still do comment blasts to AA blogs. i havent seen much results yet but seo is a long term run.
everyone has their own educated guess on backlink strategies to rank websites. its tough to believe everyone because you find contradictions in everyone. best way is to test things out for yourself.

are you scrapebox for anything else but Commenting. I had it when it first came out around 2009
When Blog Comment spam was highly effective but now i use it for scraping etc.
It is a very good tool and every marketer should have it in their arsenal of SEO tools

Harvesting/Scraping is the main use for it now...
Commenting has gone the way of the dodo to all intents and purposes. Even massive runs of SB (to good quality lists as well) fail to even sufficiently aid in indexing, let alone adding juice in my recent experience.

Such misinformation in this post. Blog comments are still worth having to diversify your link building strategies. While they do not hold as much power as they used to, you would be wrong to say they are useless.
