It depends how large is your website/blog/email/keyword lists, how many threads you set to run etc. With all these load into the system memory, how much RAM left to run SB.
For a 1 gb Ram VPS, if you have a large lists (about >50K), then only 1 instance. If you have only about 10-20K, then you can run 2 instances. Less than 10K, you can run 3 instances without SB or the VPS crashing/panic reboot.

I am able to run 5-6 instance of SB on my VPS with 50k+ list and most of the times it works fine... On my dedictaed I run 10-11 instance of SB with bigger lists...

Ok all, I've been reading everyone's comments here, and the reason why I've been asking is because we have just setup a few windows servers and have started provisioning VPS containers on them. These are all standard 1024 MB , burstable to 1536MB memory, windows 2008. These servers are all on 1000mbps uplinks with bandwidth pooling and will be ready by about Saturday/Sunday.
The reason why I asked, is because we want to supply equipment that people want, not give crap products.
