Has anyone else received a warning that scrapebox is trying to connect to secure mail servers? I am using Avast and I get this message:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
avast has detected a secure connection from your mail program (process scrapebox.exe) to the SMTP server 69.70.16.83(videotron.ca)

This type of connection can not be checked for viruses. Please disable SSL/TLS in your mail client so the mail scanner can scan your mail. The mail scanner will provide the SSL/TLS itself.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems this process is trying to send data.

Anyone else experience this?

EDIT: I have purchased/legal version.

download wireshark and look, if after the connection to the smtp, it
sends the username and pass, then connect there and send some mails and block it from your computer

You're an idiot. The traffic is via SSL, so WireShark is just going to display some encrypted gibberish.

Yea one time I was running scrapebox at night woke up then I had this vista gurdian 2010 fake antivirus bulls$$$&. I just used system restore. I guess one of the sites it was commenting on had a virus injected or something.

Nonetheless I got something about scrapebox too using avast. I haven't seen many reports of this though so perhaps at most it is just a false positive

Ok, so at least one person has seen it. Could be a false positive and I am not saying scrapebox is doing anything on purpose. I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced anything along those lines.

I know there are plenty of people here smarter then me and hopefully someone can reproduce it or figure out what is causing it.

It has happened to me 3 times, while testing proxies. Never when posting or harvesting URL's.

I got a looping AV software anitvirus ad while using scrapebox last night. Any ideas how to clear it? When I try to start my AV software, or any other for that matter, I get a popup saying the program may be infected an to "buy their shi##$y AV program... help!

BUMMMP..

just got the exact same Avast! warning when scraping proxies.. anyone know more about this????

Should I be running scrapebox through sandboxie or something similar?

Just bought scrapebox today and noticed this same message with Avast antivirus when testing proxies. It is the same thing I usually see when account creation software is reading my email. I have the legal version, purchased through this forum and downloaded from their site. Not going to jump to conclusions, but still would like to hear more about what this is exactly and hope some neutral, informed person can give some insight as that I am not well versed on analyzing connections with software such as wireshark and etc.

I've had the same problem, I purchased this legally, two days later got an email from my hosting stating the program had attached itself to my emails, I got flooded with over 5,000 emails in a minute, my hosting emailed me stating they had changed all my email passwords for protection as my hosting was being flooded by this program attaching to my emails and the program was sending out bulk spam emails through my email program

I cant say anything to that. I can say that I purchased Scrapebox through this forum. I loaded it onto my VPS server and it was already activated to another person and would not allow me to activate with my credentials. After 24 hours, it would not open. I would expand the file back out from the download, and it would run for 24 hours and stop. I contacted Scrapebox customer service and they had me download a program and run it. This program allowed me to activate Scrapebox with my credentials but has failed to do anything about the software refusing to boot after 24 hours. I am waiting to hear back from customer support. Also Scrapebox will not move the scraped URLs into the comment poster. This is version 1.15.72, the current version.
