Hello,
I was wondering if any one run SB from server or if you could help about few question.

*What server do I need for that?

*How to setup sb in server?

*When I running it from server, do I have to open the server window in my pc or I just click the star and close it? cause I don't wanna run my pc 24hrs :p

hope some would help me out :baby:

forexvps is good enough for scrapebox. But earlier once when I updated scrapebox, it was terminating connection all the time. I can't praise more about the scrapebox support. They wrote a dev version of scrapebox just to find out what the heck is happening with my installation.

I still use forexvps and it's pretty cheap too. I got a 30% off discount code from somewhere in the net. T

Thanks
Tom

can u recommend a reliable windows vps provider?

regards.

can you host your websites with the same vps used for Scrapebox?

I run it on a dedicated windows server and it still crashes itself and the server occasionally...

Why'd you need a vps to run scrapebox? Why not just buy some old pc an run it from home? alot cheaper since scrapebox runs just fine on crappy pcs.

i have a crappy pc but it has linux on it...I don't know whether I should add like 2gigs of ram so I could run a VM with windows and SB, would that even work? What would be the best thing to upgrade on a pc to make SB run better?

I use windows vps from xsserver.com... $35/month plan... I am very satisfied..

Uhm, because of its advantages maybe? When you are on a vps, you can run it 24/7 and you don't have to use your own resources like isp bandwidth. Most vps have 100mbit unmetered bandwidth and if something goes wrong, your isp won't call you and ask what the hell you are doing with their bandwidth. Worse case scenario, your vps account will be cancelled which is not a problem since you can always get a new with another company. If your home internet gets cancelled because of what you are doing, your isp will blacklist you so it will be very hard for you to get a new account with another isp. Any contract involving bandwidth has a fair amount usage policy.

Running scrabebox on a vps with proxies is the safer way to go and most companies accept a visa/master gift card. It well worths the money and lowers the risk of tying the loose ends if you be careful.

I am wonder if it is possible to have 2 x scrapebox( in two folder) on VPS
First harvesting
Second Commenting
:) Somebody test this?

First of all there many options but lets stick to the simplest. Go get a vps server and a windows one.

You can go on webhostingtalk and search offers but make sure to contact them first and tell me them what you need it for. I use xsserver (35 bucks /month) and i am quite happy to be honest.

When you get your vps,you open the windows remote desktop, you connect to your vps, you install sb and you run it from there. You dont have to have your pc 24/7 open. You connect to the vps, press your buttons and you can close the connection. The vps will keep working.

I'm a big Linux fan and I'm particularly fond of Ubuntu but running Windows under Virtualbox is not going to be pleasant with an older machine. You're better off just installing XP on the old box and adding some memory to run SB. Investing is some proxies is in all likelihood going to your best performance investment.

I have a vps with known host that I have all my sites on.

so 2 questions,

Would it still be safe to have it on the same server my sites are on?
And is there some kind of guide to help me put it on the server?

Right now I am running SB on a dedicated computer with windows 7 and it seems a bit slow.

it's a bad idea to run SB on a server with your sites on it since it can crash your windows server. and it's an executable file and so it would work the same way you have it on your local PC. the only difference would be having transfer the license but they have a free transfer once a month so it shouldn't be a problem.
