    Hey guys,

I bought scrapebox a few days ago, and have been playing around with it.

I've been trying to do some reading up/research on how to use it, and have come across a lot of stuff about VPS.

I'm not 100% sure how i'd even go about getting one, and I don't think I can really afford to spare the extra 35 or so a month at the moment.

Is it bad to run scrapebox without using a VPS?

No, a VPS is not necessary unless you are doing a lot of scraping/posting. If you plan on doing lots of commenting and url scraping then I would recommend getting a VPS. It also depends on if your ISP is monitoring or limiting your bandwidth.
You can get a VPS here for $9.19 for your first month if you decide to get one.

I hope that helps you! :)

    Thanks for the reply man!

My households current bandwidth limit is 60gb/month.

Also, if I do end up getting a VPS, will it speed up scrapebox?

I'm running it on my mac right now, through windows xp installed on virtualbox.

I'm doing my first test run, and so far it's taken 30 minutes to scrape around 1000 urls :(

I've got a 3mbps connection and I can post roughly 3000-3500 comments per hour. While running it makes everything else, even opening simple text pages, very slow. it doesn't harm the functionality of the program though.

Yes, you will be on a lot better connection than any house connection meaning you can run a lot more threads in Scrapebox. That equals more posting and more scraping.

From what you've said, I think you can do fine running it on your own computer. Get the free proxy sources and grab some free working ones every time before blasting away. You don't necessarily need to buy vps or proxies.

You don't really need a VPS. It does help because you're not using your own resources. Most people use a VPS for high-scale scraping and posting.

If you don't post comment much, You don't need a VPS. Thrust VPS is a cheap one to get a decent VPS for scrapebox. Just spend around 12 bucks.

Same answer with the above members. Not necessary with VPS. Proxies also the same.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys.

For now i'm going to be mainly using SB to blast my own niche sites, and I will only be focusing on one or two for the next while.

For future reference though, if I plan on selling SB blasts via ebay, fiverr etc. I will probably need to invest in a VPS correct?

Thanks again, and i'm starting to really get sucked into this whole IM thing.
I haven't made any money yet, but it's coming :D
