    Hey guys,

is it possible to search for ONE keyword in scrapebox with maybe 100 (forums) footprints? So can I put all the footprints inside the harvester with this keyword behind every footprint or is there any other way to get this done?

    kindly regards

    Endgeek,

You can achieve this by using the 'merge footprint' feature. Create a new text file with a list of footprints and select the M button at the top left of Scrapebox, then load your list of footprints. Footprint file example:

    %KW% Footprint1
    %KW% Footprint2
    and so on.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks - and the %KW% is the word I've entered in the textfield above or the textarea below?

The %KW% will be the word you entered in the textarea ;) If you put 2 keywords inside and merge it with 100 footprints you will get 200 different footprints for search.

I scrapebox %KW% just means replace with keyword. So for example: site:.edu %KW% %KW% would be replace by your keyword.

I just started a thread on this very thing a few days ago. The thread is "The Merge List For Scrapebox: Giveaway / Help" in that thread I give a merglist with footprints for finding all the blogtypes that scrapepbox supports, in all major English speaking countries. This list also includes the .edu and .gov extensions for each country, as well as any other popular extension.. like .biz or .net.

    I hope this helps.

So if I wanted to scrape a URL list of 10,000 links for a specific keyword, what parameters would I use?

Say I wanted to search for the word "balding hair" and I have a specific list of URLS I want to find that keyword on...?

    Thanks.

Look at my thread on merge list. The way it works is like this. You put all your custom foot prints in a txt file. Put %KW% where ever you want your keyword to go in that string. here an example:

    Site:.edu "powered by site" "%KW%"
    Site:.gov "powered by site" "%KW%"

Now when you load this merge file. Your keyword will be replaced with that, except where you see "%KW%" will be your actual keyword. It will do this for every keyword in your list. So with balding hair it would look like this:

Site:.edu "powered by site" "balding hair"
Site:.gov "powered by site" "balding hair"

Word of advice if you use a big merge list the one that i post, don't use a bunch of keywords. The reason i say this, is because using a big merge list can produce huge keyword lists and can sometime make scrapebox crash.

On that note have fun and good luck.

I'm just trying to search 1 specific keyword for a list of URLs that I already have. I read your post and it didn't really seem related to what I am trying to do. I just need it to search MY list of already pulled URLs for the specific keyword I want it to search for.

Hey GG, I tried that method but it came back wrong. :(

    I posted on my thread.

Thanks to both of you for the help though. :)

Ok. Could you re-explain what you're trying to get from your keyword list? What sites are you trying to search? Ex: Are you try to to search wordpress and say movabletype blogs at the same time for your keyword? Just want to make sure i understood you correctly.

    Sure thing... :)

SweetFunny actually gave me a working method for now in my thread located here.

However, it only currently works with a single keywords.

Basically, what I am trying to do is search a list of links I already have in a text file, that look like:

    domain.com/link/somepage.html
    domain.com/link/anotherlink.html
    domain.com/link/yetanother.html

I have a list of SPECIFIC links I want to search for a specific keyword on. For example, say I have 10,000 of these specific links (not domains, actual pages on specific domains) and I want to see if anywhere on that page a certain term show up... say "chocolate chips".

I was looking for a way to use Scrapebox to go through all those pages and give me a list back of ONLY the ones that have that word on it.

You see what I'm saying? Sweet's method works, but only for a single keyword, not multiple. However, something is better than nothing for now!

If you know a better way, awesome! Otherwise for now, this will do good.

    Thanks for your help fr33sh.

I think i get what your trying to do. you just want to filter the links in your text file. Why not load that list into harvester.

Click --> Remove/Filter ---> Remove Urls Not Containing

A box will appear type in chocolate chips and it will leave only urls containing this somewhere in the url link. I'm not sure if this will work with more than one word at a time , but you can try.
