I have a strange thing today ... Scrapebox seems to have issues getting PR data.

I have 50 private proxies used only for speacial work
I have 260 private/shared proxies for semi heavy work
and approx 400 public proxies every day

All of the above test well and pass the requirements.

however when i start the PR grab i get dead proxies returned by scrapebox for all of them.

Is anyone else having this issue - or is it simply my proxies

    Steve

I saw the same thing late yesterday. I rank a ton of forums through Scrapebox to check the PR and not 1 had a result.

Thanks for the update - I worry that this service has somehow been blocked by Google.

I guess scrapebox uses a google service in order to get the data so hopefully the developers will be able to work away around this

is any one else having issues.

It works fine on my vps. Do you use it on your computer or vps? Have you tried using a delay? (It seems to affect more than one thing).

nope didn't work - strange as the volume of proxies i have it seems that this is a system issue and not the fact i have been blocked on all 3 levels of my proxies.

Do other scrapers have a working PR checker or is yours reporting Dead proxies no matter what proxies you use.

I just pasted one of my own domains in SB and ran the page rank checker. I watched SB change proxies several times and it couldn't get a results. It shows PR as N/A even though I know that site has PR It's a 12 year old domain. I'm not on a VPS. This is my home/work connection.

I also have SB on my comp and it looks like my ISP might have bandwidth throttling active as I can't do much on it, so it makes a difference (more variables to consider) regardless of proxies used, hence my question.

That's bizarre - I ran it again with

    http://www.yahoo.co.uk
    http://www.ebay.co.uk

and it fetched the results in seconds, reran it again on the URL's i am trying to check (only 30) and it came back dead proxies, but no setting had been altered.

Does Google ban PR checks for certain URL's ????

OK, I just scraped 133 public proxies and ran them through g check and will run a larger list to see if the same thing will happen.

OK, I got a phone call in the mean time and by mistake I've ran the proxy checker again - funny, from those 133 good proxies - 75 went through g check and only 68 through IP check...so almost 50% of proxies turned bad in a span of a few minutes.

Now to the test - I'm running a check on 766 urls, I'm about half way through and zero bad proxies so far.

The whole list of 766 urls went through without a problem, ranks from N/A to PR6, but...
This was my PR list and I re-checked the N/A's manually and they were NOT N/A, so take the results with a grain of salt.

As to why it doesn't work on yours? I have no idea. What number do you use under max connections for PR? I've learnt to use about 20% of the number of proxies I use (regardless if public or private) and it's been working well for me.
