Scrapebox not working - FIX

Thought I would start a new thread just so everyone has this handy


You need to update your scrapebox to the latest version.


You can download just the exe here:

I updated to the 1.15.50 and it comes right up and authenticates even though the old license servers still show they are under DDoS attacks.





Edit: Also you will need to reinstall your addons once you update.
At least judging by the looks of my addon screen anyway, but SF didn't tell me that so I don't know for sure. But since each addon had to be rebuilt it only makes sense, and I see an update for all of them.





As noted by Softtouch Sweetfunny can't access BHW right now. Sweetfunny had emailed me back giving me the update so I could update and told me they couldn't get to BHW, and so I am just posting what they gave me.


The short of the story is that for security reasons, scrapebox is directly integrated with the licensing servers. To mitigate the DDoS attacks they had to buy an entirely new server and hardware DDoS firewall protection.

Which means they had to first completely migrate the entire license database and all things on the license server. Then they had to build in the new server to scrapebox and recompile a new build of scrapebox to use the new server. Which is what is above.

Now they have to go rebuild and recompile every addon, and a bunch of other tools. Things like these are why it has taken so long and working out a DDoS server and having it and hardware firewalls provisioned with a new company etc....

Just sharing what I know.

Edit: I perhaps posted this too soon, it doesn't look like they are completely done with the migration to the new server, cause its not working ATM. So give it some time.

I think the download server is getting hammred by people trying to download, lol. I just posted on a bunch of skype groups and all over the forums and lots of other people are sharing the info.

Ye, still not validating for me. New type of error though. Gonna keep trying.

yeah, not working at all - tried d/ling the exe only and then the whole .zip, installed in a new folder and still getting the same error as before even though it shows V1.15.50

I had it open for a few days, but I had to restart my computer yes terday, and now I can't get back in.
The link for the full package isn't working. I was able to download the new .exe, but it still does not validate. I'll try again later.

Same here, did the download but timing out on the license activation. Not fun!

Yeah it worked for a bit, but its not working ATM. Id guess that they are still migrating things on the server and messing with it. I dunno.

I know DDoS mitigation hardware can "learn" what is normal behavior and what is not, so I suppose its possible the attackers started attacking the new server and it is currently "learning" what is DDoS and what is normal Sbox usage. Totally a theory, but I do know there is a new license server with DDoS hardware protection and that is what the .50 is using, so its a step in the right direction even if there is still a few bumps along the way.

Some competitor is certainly being seriously shady by straight up attacking sbox and its userbase for so long.

This is the sort of effort only a top notch customer responsible service would make.
Great stuff from SF and the other scrapebox members.

I got lucky and tried this the second it was posted on the other thread. Only the end of the world will now make me close my ScrapeBox! Never will I touch that little 'X' button again!!!
