Scrapebox Noob, When Would I Need Proxies?

Hey guys,

I am planning on using Scrapebox for WhiteHat SEO purposes.. will it be likely that I will still need proxies? Or will I not be going through enough BW to require them?

You need proxies all the time. You don't want to leave a footprint. If you still obscure on why to use them, I will suggest to not do anything else until you understand more. You could hurt a site and some one business by doing something wrong.

Depends what you are using scrapebox for. If you do lots of scraping, you won't be able to do anything without good quality, working proxies. If you are commenting, you may be able to do without proxies if you are not too worried about your IP getting blacklisted.

We will be doing manual commenting (like I said, WhiteHat uses).

How much generally should we budget for proxies for scraping? Thanks.

to put it in as few words as possible you will need
the following

1 - some private proxies for comments . do not use your own ip or you will
get black listed.

2 - a separate set of proxies for scraping. this can either be some shared
proxies - or a decent supply of public proxies.

You can use slow harvester and some very tight footprints to harvest urls to post to without using proxies. Set a delay on slow harvester so that your PC ip doesn't get blocked.

just about everyone on bhw will advise dont use your home ip
for url scraping, if you screw up, you will no about it.

for posting purposes again use private proxies.
for scraping either shared or a good supply of public proxies.

dont use the proxies you use for posting for scraping

Get 10-20 Private Proxies for POSTING should be fine

And for Scraping purpose get Public proxies that working

Even if you aim to do minimum posting manually to blogs..... you'll still need to scrape to find those targets. And to scrape you need proxies.

Private is best, but you'll need to turn your connections WAY DOWN otherwise you'll get them all flagged in no time. If using 50 private proxies, aset your connections to 3. It used to be you could do 10% so 5 would have been alright, but now it's about 7.5% of connections to available proxies to be able to scrape continuous with your private proxies without flagging. You can literally scrape for days with these settings.

Problem with shared is that if the other users are also scraping you'll get your proxies flagged much quicker.

It also obviously depends on the magnitude of your scraping operation.

I use ProxyGo's proxy service to run quick scrapes on platforms that do not have a huge amount of footprints as those take just a few hours or less. his service is Top Notch. Ask nicely, he might let you join

If I'm doing a massive scrape that runs for days on my VPS, I use my private proxies. And all commenting should be done from private proxies to avoid flagged ip's akismet ban etc. Find a provider that lets you rotate them at least once a month also to keep them fresh. Last thing you want is to leave comments and just have them ghosted all across the web.
