Has anybody tried to do a blast on Scrapebox to their Youtube videos and if so, what's your feedback on this method?

I'd imagine that Youtube videos would never be sandboxed regardless, for obvious reasons.

Do you think backlinks are taken into account when ranking Youtube videos not just on Google, but Youtube itself?

A link is a linnk so you can blast, but i am not sure about the results

Yeah I know but it's the bit about whether it helps improve a Youtube rank that I'm looking into.

Try searching around on google a little. When you get a result that has video on it compare its backlink, anchor text with the others around it. You can use things like MS TT or backlinkswatch etc for anchor analysis.

Someone should really try this. I'll actually try this myself if no one else does :p

I've just done a very quick check on Google for a {keyword} and every youtube video that came up in the SERPS when 'everything' was checked, had backlinks - not a lot; we're talking between 7 and 16 backlinks, but they did have backlinks all the same.

I checked some of mine that couldn't be found anywhere and they had 0 backlinks.

All checked via the Scrapebox add-on.

I'm going to give this a whirl I think, nothing to lose!

I read somewhere that youtube works on the same principle as google, and I think it does work. All the popular videos are at the top on youtube for the search keyword, viral videos are at the top because so many other sites are linking to them, like yahoo, the chive, the sun etc. So it should work, post back your results.

I just started with SB to do just this and I bought Bookmarking Demon to first bookmark the YT vid. I am an offliner and just want to rank for local long tail such as Boston house painter.

There is a WSO...0ffine v0de0 baz00ka that lays out a strategy to rank YT and daily mOtion vids.

It would be great to get some input here on BHW about the best practices to get these type of YT vids ranked fast and above G00gle places.

Thanks

hey people,

No intention to hijack this thread, but can scrapebox blast be done to even a G00gle place

I am sure backlinking is done to GP but is scrapebx blast fine with GP

I haven't run this process yet. But my experiences says that you will get positive feedback.

I am seeing YT vids rank above GP...just look at las vegas roofer. See that YT vid above GP....now that can be done with BMD and SB. Now I am trying to do this as quickly as possible and it would be great to get a bunch of BHW members commenting on the best practices to get this done with BMD and SB. I believe it a YT vid can rank in few days. Thanks for any help and suggestions

Isn't more a function of the number views, comments and ratings? If it was just a question of backlinks every owner of scapebox souls blast out millions of links.

The idea of ranking highly within youtube greatly interests me :) Are you talking about blasting do-follow sites or no-follow sites?

I have blasted links to youtube videos before. The problem is, its a lot harder to track the results. I have done tons of links, and had a video go viral to 200,000 views. I then blasted another and it never went above 400 views. So I can't actually say if it helped. or if it was coincidence.

Backlinks work wonders for YT video rankings (in organic). It absolutely makes a big difference. You don't need too many to rank well in YT. I've got well over 200 YT videos ranked on the first page of G... many within a week or two where it would have taken months with a regular website to rank.

I find that social bookmarks help ranking quickly. SB blasts help but they do send even a YT vid into a temporary dance in most cases, just not as long as usual. Vids have a tendency to bounce around a bit for the first 30 days or so... one minute they are on the first page, later in the day they are on the second or third page.... that's just the way it goes when trying to rank video.

I regularly blast videos with SB... although I find that I get better results when I use SB with a little PR and less links.

Hey MagicMike,

Are you able to get page 1 google rankings for your youtube videos even if there were no prior videos showing up for your targeted keyword before you backlinked your video?

The reason I ask this is that I am also starting to backlinks youtube videos as well.

I have seen fairly quick success for ranking my videos on google when there is already another video appearing on the google serps (prior to my video ranking on the first page). I haven't seen any success yet with trying to rank a video onto the first page of google if no videos are currently showing up on the first page for the respective keyword search.

Sometimes its easy, sometimes its not. In order for G to show videos for a keyword they have to trigger "universal search" for that keyword (meaning mixing organic, video, Places, etc.).

If you find it difficult to rank a vid for a keyword that doesn't have videos ranking in the first 3-5 pages simply upload your video to other services as well (other than YT). Generally, the extra competition and video action causes your vids to rank.

Of course, when you do this you have to be careful not to have one of the other vid sites outrank your main video... depending on how you're working. If I want my YT vid to rank, when I upload the vids to other sites I don't make the title as strong or the description... just enough to give it a little competition.

Hope this makes sense.

I've done this.. once. I definitely saw a difference in the SERP results. I became listed on the Google web results page for a keyword in my tags for the YT video, but there are so many other factors that contribute to the video rankings.

I'll keep doing this for every video I make from now on though, like you said.. It can't hurt.

Those are some great tips. thanks! BTW, have you found certain video sharing sites better than others, or are the usual suspects enough: dailymotion, metacafe, vimeo, etc?

One other question for you related to the backlinking portion. Now for me, I have been using magic submitter to create profiles (blogs and forums) on a very diverse set of sites with an anchored backlink to my vids. You mentioned in a prior post that you use social bookmarks coupled with scrapebox.

1. Are you able to get videos to rank strictly through the social bookmarks?

2. If not, how aggressive are you with sb in blasting out comments to get the video ranked?

I'm thinking of getting scrapebox to speed this process up if in fact it gives the desired results. I've also considered xrumer blasts but I haven't seen anyone report results here other than just mentioning it as an idea or asking if others have done it.
