If a site has been caught by Askimet is it now useless to use Scrapebox to send out comment runs using that site as the URL?

Is the only option left, once caught by Askimet, to blast buffer sites only, pointing these to the Askimet trapped site?

Does Askimet only cover Wordpress blogs? Are Blog Engine, Movable Type and others ok to use?

Also would this work:

When I post a comment I include the following information:

Name: John Doe
Email: [email protected]
URL: www.google.c0m (example) or one of your web2.0 properties

Comment: I really like your blog blah blah blah (I know its only an example) <a href="www.askimetbannedwebsite.c0m">Target Keyword</a>


If you did this would the 'Askimet banned website' inside the comment still be picked up and the entire comment deleted?

Ok, personally i wouldn't worry about blogs that have akismet. If you're posting out to 10k blogs, maybe 1/3 of them will have that feature turned on. The rest are open for easy pickings.
 
1/3? So what else is causing all of these posts to fail then? because I'm definitely not getting a 66% success rate.

If you're using the free proxies from Scrapebox you could be having an issue.

I recently switched to paid proxies and I've been experiencing some higher results with my commenting both in the fast and slow posting options.

I'm running a fast post first and then transferring the failed URLs that Scrapebox said that slow posting may work. I get about 50% from the fast posting successful and then another 50% of the remaining URLs in the slow posting. So overall about 75% success in posting.

When I then check links I get about 10-20 comments that are automatically approved and found and the rest will obviously be at the blog owners discretion. This is out of a 2000 URL run.

I'm doing this with only 4 exclusive private proxies (cost $10 per month) for now however I will be upgrading to more soon.

If you're banging your head against your desk then just buy some proxies for a month, as you can cancel at any time and see how your results improve. You can even get your proxies replaced if you break them/ get them banned.

Use the free proxies for the bulk of scraping and then use your private proxies for the more refined work within Scrapebox.

The other great thing is that theses same proxies can be used in your other tools also.

I create a failed posts file then run it again through fast post. Rinse and repeat until I am satisfied thats as far as I can go and then fire up slow posts.
 
Aki$met also covers BE sites in addition to WP, that change was included in the updated version of BE in march or april. The exact userbase with akis protection is hard to know, yeah it comes installed with WP, but you have to get an API key and apply it. Some blog mods are too lazy to do that. OTOH, with the advent of mass commenting, a lot of blogs are protected. So....

Once you're domain is blacklisted by akis, it's not "useless" to still comment spam it, just less effective. The blacklist will last for an indeterminate time, but while it's there, spamming to web 2.0 props helps, spamming to sites that 301 to your actual site helps, and there are a few other tactics you could try (*cough* bitly links, other shorteners, 404 pages on other sites that have nothing but links to your site(s) *cough*).
