Scientists Find 47 Million year Old Missing Link

The deniers didn't even read the article in full. The beauty of evolution..... Yeh? lol

It's a theory that's predicated on a massive amount of scientific data. That's a lot more than anyone could say for any sort of creationist ideals.

Dawkin's is coming out with a book in september that supposedly provides unequivocal evidence of evolution. Should be an interesting read.

Think for yourselves fgts, Evolution is just a theory, stop acting like it's a fact. Don't go and bash other people because they don't believe in a faulty theory.

wow ur such an idiot.. Are you one of those people who are soo open-minded that nothing at all sticks to your brain? Scientific theory = fact you retard. Gravity and relativity are also theories. Listen to someone smart. I have a degree in physics. You probably haven't even graduated highschool with over 70% in any science course.

for the record it doesn't say we were monkeys, it says we had a common ancestor.
this is a routine error... :D

If I was a monkey and my mom was human, would you say my mom was monkey or human?

"No shit, human!"

This applies also. If we descended from something then we came from that. - I don't believe in this, but for sake of argument - you are wrong. If you say our ancestor is a monkey, then we came from it. Directly or indirectly, we came from it.

He's not saying we came from monkeys, jeez. He's saying we SHARE a common ancestor. Look it up if you don't get it.

Clearly, we didn't come from apes. We share the same ancestor.. Did you come from your brother? Sorry to say it, but most creationists don't get anything.. That's why they don't believe it because their minds can't grasp it.

..Ok lolz over.

I'm surprised to see how many deniers are actually patrolling BHW. W O W !!

Ooooh! Darwin and darwinists, the old scientific story of our evolution from the past to the future, we're in 2009, not in 1875, this article from SkyNews is a joke & a bullshit, we were monkeys while real monkeys don't change even after thousands of years? ....

I think that some important scientists and a university from US too, have a new study with scientific proofs that we're humans from the past to this day except of some bio. characteristics changes like tallness ... etc.

And because of the weakness of some scientists in this complex field, they return to some famous stories/assumptions of classic theorists ... may be they will find something (like a bullshit) instead of staying weak-minded (a scientists game).

Oh dear, I don't even know where to start.

Just because they found that doesn't mean that humans evolved from it.

Actually the missing link is we all came from hamsters, just wait we are now being compared to lemurs next our great scientists will find fluffy the hamster from 80 million years ago and it will be our new link!!!! The whole evolution thing for me is sketchy, if we evolved from apes or monkeys, then why are there apes and monkeys now, did the evolution process stop?

you guys are so funny, really funny..seriously..you guys made me laugh..

human is a special creature, there is NO way we are from the same ancestors as apes or monkey..

it's just a theory..i will and never will..believe such IDIOT claims..no matter where it came from..scientist? footballer? maikel jaksen? NO

Very interesting, Hexalor.

Any idea what caused them to evolve into different branches?

And why are we noticeably much smarter than all the other type of monkeys?
If there are monkeys that share the same ancestors as humans, then shouldn't they atleast be more intelligent?

Oh, so our brains developed because we used it more than any other type of animal.

It's pretty weird we were the only type that developed intelligence.

the environment plays a significant role in how species develop. have you ever noticed that technology is most prominent in areas that have fairly inhospitable climates? if the growing season is only a few months long, compared to all year long, then the only ones who will survive are those who are smart enough to know how to get food during the winter.

the smartest survive and have smarter kids.

Christianity will cover it. Remember there were no dinosaurs due to them ;)

can't blame him profinet, did you see what he looked like and that name jeesh I would be abit mad too.

hahahahahahahhahahahahahahah. I like how you say "no matter where it came from". You just showed us how ignorant you are. Not willing to believe anything except what you already believe.

You people aren't getting this evolution thing. We EVOLVED from monkeys. *YES* we were once MONKEYS. That is what it means. I don't know what you people think a "common ancestor" is.

It doesn't mean a monkey had sex with a human 40 million years ago. Humans *WERE* monkeys.

And no, we were never monkeys. Trust me on this, I AM a scientist with a degree. Firstly, if you read my earlier post, it's apes, NOT monkeys.

Second of all, we didn't come from them, we share a common ancestor. Obviously you guys don' know what that means so let me explain it to you.

Ok, now lets say we have a creature and let's just say our genome is in binary (for simplicity)

Ok now:

Here is the genome of an earlier ape-like creature (not ape, just close).

Ok, let's say this creature is represented by the binary sequence 1101100010. Now millions of years pass and there are now 2 more creatures that spawned from this creature. Let's give them 1101100011 and 1100100010. After more time let's say these evolve into 1101100111 and 1001100010 respectively. Let's say that the first sequence happens to be an ape, and the second one a human.

Did we come from apes? No. Simple answer: they came form the same creature that we did.

Think of it like this:

If we start with red paint and put some red paint in one dish and some in another. K red is our common ancestor. Now in the first dish, let's add some white paint and mix it to get pink, and in the 2nd let's mix in blue to get purple. Let's call pink apes, and purple humans. WE DIDN'T COME FROM PINK, WE JUST SHARE A VITAL PART FROM THEM BECAUSE WE CAME FROM THE SAME INITIAL INGREDIENTS.

edit: by apes, I mean present day apes. The "apes" that were around millions of years ago weren't the same as today. We evolved from them, not present day ones. We share a common ancestor with present day apes.
