Ecstasy is the street name. Still why do not they not pick a smaller name for it. :( I think they just ran the name through a random name generator to come up with that name. HAHA lets see those Ectasy users pronounce this now that we made up a name for it so big that even we can not pronounce it.

Guess they figured they had to get creative. People might have gotten upset if they had just called it "Methyl-ethyl-bad-shit".

You feel old!?! I turned 46 last January. :(

If you think you're old, then I must be farting dust.

    Happy Birthday!

random name generator lol might as well be lol. of course there is a reason for this naming. its the IUPAC(International Union of Pure & Applied Chemistry) nomenclature for the chemical/substance. it allows you to visualize what the molecule looks like in 3d

Methylene: meth means a single carbon with hydrogens bonded to it, the ene in it means there is a double bond involved meaning there is 1 less hydrogen, so it would be CH2 and the C is double bonded to another carbon,
dioxy: 2 oxygen side groups are attached
    meth: CH3
amphetamine: the amphetamine structure is involved, i forget how it goes but it involves an amine which is a common functional group in organic molecules

just putting my stupid college education to some use.

by the way any chemical with "meth" in it doesnt mean the drug meth, most chemicals in your body are built with methyl groups
