Hey guys, so here's the thing. In the country I live, generally public schools suck, so parents that want their kids/teenagers to have a good education send them to private schools, which, well, cost lol.
Well, I checked the keywords for schools in certain cities and they are actually low competition niches with a high number of searches per month.

You by now may think "Just do it motherfucker", but I really want to be sure, 'cause some of the results appearing in page 1 are from the government and I heard something about this pages, that google has "preference" for them, but none of them actually have the keywords I was looking for.

So, to summarize, none of p1 sites have the keywords that have a high amount of searches per month, most of results are from government pages, and that's it.

I'm thinking about creating a directory of schools, maybe charge one of them for being "featured". What do you think? Btw, searches are over 10,000.

Also! Do I need any sort of special "legal" permission to create a directory?

Regards :D I'll be waiting for responses.

Hey, be sure those are exact searches. It's profitable if you make that site popular because you can ask for some big schools to advertise. But, that niche is seasonal, those search terms are popular only in 2-3 months per year.

You have a great idea. You could actually earn from it especially when your school directory website gets popular. I think you don't need a legal permission to create a directory. Maybe, you'll just ask the schools informally to post their contact details on your website. But I guess, they would be in favor of it since you are sort of advertising for them.

Yeah, you are right, I hadn't thought about that actually, but still I can charge yearly and hopefully get at least one client. 3k extra a year won't hurt :D Specially considering that if Google Keyword Tool says those keywords get 10k searches a month, that means it's over 100k searches a year, many potential students to find it.

Yeah, I think that's what I'm gonna do. I specially like the keywords because they are kind of "slang" words, it's not like yellow pages cover that. I'm gonna give it a shot :)

Thank you guys for your responses.

Yes that's definitely profitable.

Taking this further, you could create multiple directories and have just 1 main one where all the traffic goes. The other directories can be used to help boost your main directory in serps and also you can offer SEO services to some schools. Another way you can do it is create a private network of education sites. If you got the right budget and have experience in SEO then there's a lot of money to be made.
