scenario for the perfect crime.

Making 500 million dollars both in present and in future is definitely possible but withdrawing $500M in cash in shortest possible time is almost impossible without getting noticed/tracked but possible if it's done via peers or you can turn that money into white and make the hero, villain in this case., go public to get that money. My idea leverages the cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.

Believe me it's easy as you think to make big amount of money..
More difficult it's to have the the money for to setup the perfect exit strategy...
You can setup in your scenario for the perfect crime some offshore ltd and offshore bank accounts with bank passport and then put all the money into some EU based TRUST and you are fine..
Google for UBS...they pick up your "Black Money" in cash legal from your home and bring it over the border to Switzerland..if you have real money you don't need to care about laws, gov or police hire the right banker and they do all the dirty jobs for you..
I'm working as a hobby since 2013 on my "perfect mega blackhat crime" and need to invest approx. 300k-400k Euros to hit the JACKPOT...All we needs is money in fiction or in the reality :)

You're not really an author. Just some guy with an idea. Author's take pride in their work, and they care about and put special effort into every single detail. You should give up on this delusional idea that you are an "author" and pursue some other line of work more suitable to your character and temperament. I heard Jiffy Lube was hiring. I heard the last guy forgot to torque-down the oil drain plug and their client dumped their entire crankcase of oil on the freeway at 70 mph and it destroyed their engine. You could replace that guy.
Oil drain plugs don't really need to be torqued on. If you overtighten them they strip and then the pan is fubar. Snugged is okay, which can be done by hand.

Hopefully the guy isn't writing in English, but some other primary language instead.

I have partly covered that issue in my story. Most big crimes/robberies in the past, fell apart because someone got caught or started talking. So in my story, the main crook that organizes the crime, eliminates one after the other all people that participated in the crime , to eliminate the risk of getting caught...

then mak it the focus of da storyyy, jus skim over the crime part and mak it about the big bad smelly criminal going after his/her/its accomplice then one of the accomplice smell his smelly smell that smells smelly and gt away but he cant go to th police bcs to do so is to put himself in jail so he mus fight back one way or the other, problem is the big bad smelly criminal s a genius yadda yadda so his only hope to fyt back is to learn hamsterfu from a master hamster :joke:

Sounds too confusing a crime... not even the best of Scotland Yard people can solve it if it(?) is executed exactly as said(!)... :D
:)

Hello, I'm currently writing a novel on 'the perfect crime' (if that exists). The story plays in the future, 20-30 years from now. The first idea was that the crooks that would commit the crime.....
Thank you

By any chance under contract with "Kim Jong?"

Hello, I'm currently writing a novel on 'the perfect crime' (if that exists). The story plays in the future, 20-30 years from now. The first idea was that the crooks that would commit the crime, would hack into a bank system and pull out 500 million$. But that scenario is rather classic. And also rather unrealistic. I mean, even if you could hack into the system of a bank, I doubt you could wire out 500 mln$.

So I came up with the following scenario (in short): The crooks setup a number of trading accounts under false identities. They then brake into the system of a large company (like Google) and create havoc. This would make the stock to drop. The crooks short the stock. By putting in 30 million, they could pull out 500 mln (using leverage and multiple accounts).

Now the story plays in the future, so I can permit myself some freedom in what is possible and not. But it has to remain realistic. So to start with, the start capital cannot be wired in from another account , because there would be a trace. The only solution I can think of, is that the crooks would fill up a number of accounts with cash, using fake identities. But is it possible to deposit let's say 2 million dollars into a bank account without questions being asked?

The second question is: After they have made their profit, how to pull it out of the bank accounts? Again, by wiring it to other accounts they could make it difficult to follow the trace, but finally, those that are after them would find the trace anyway. So the only way would be to pull out the money in cash, in stacks of let's say 5 million (remember, the total gain is 500 mln). Is that plausible? (I doubt if there is anyone here that has tried to withdraw 5 mln in cash :) )

Is this plausible? If not, any other ideas? I post this here, because you guys might have some more knowledge about what is feasible and what is complete science fiction. So let your brains and imagination work: How would you setup the perfact crime to make 500 mln dollars ?

Thank you

well, I see a flaw in your plan..... Trading with leverage won't automatically turn your few million into the 100's of million in value that you're trading

Uh huh. Well, I get your point and know what you mean and you are right in your intent but, like the "author" here, you are also sloppy with things that are critical. In his case, he thinks he can announce his "authorness" with spelling errors and expect an audience full of idiots that won't notice, and won't fully realize what this says about who he is. His character, if you will. And to a certain extent, he's right. They admire plucky, "never say die" attitudes, because maybe that's what works in sales, but people don't buy books from "authors" that don't love the written word like it was a woman. You can pick yourself up and get right back into the fight time & time again, and people will STILL not care to read your work because you don't (in this case, the "author" doesn't) really care, and I mean CARE about his work. He wants to hang-out in the Lounge and have a conversation about possible storylines at the same level as you would have when talking about the recent Dallas Cowboys victory. It's interesting and all, but seriously, how much would you pay to read it? It's good to have a dream, but it's bad to have a delusion. Rewarding a delusion as if it were a dream is also bad, but it doesn't cost anything, nor does it hurt the person that does it, so people do it. It's bad and wrong, and people should stop.

Never say quit/Never say die ALSO works at the Jiffy Lube, and there's nothing wrong with that kind of success, HOWEVER

You aren't going to get rich at running Jiffy Lubes if you think that "torquing" a oil plug involves a 24" breaker bar and a 350 lb. gorilla named "Mike" with Sgt. Slaughterhouse tattoos covering his body, to include his bald dome. In fact you DO need to "torque" an oil plug, with a torque wrench and it needs to be torqued to within factory specs. Not to little and not too much. Too much and, as you've mentioned, it strips, and too little, as I've mentioned, and the tubby lesbian I didn't like 20 years ago loses all 5 quarts of her motor oil on the freeway 4 miles from the Jiffy Lube that she just drove away from. Was that YOU that only thought you needed to "hand tighten" the oil pan drain plug? Maybe THAT is why so many people have their engines destroyed after driving away from Jiffy Lube.

Anyways, while we're all sitting around in this circle jerk, day-dreaming about getting rich and being successful, let's all be mindful of the idea that real authors care about their audience reading substandard text with spelling errors, and successful Jiffy Lube owners make damn sure their customers oil pan drain plugs are TORQUED to factory spec, and not hand tightened.

The very definition of delusion. And one will always find other delusional people to reinforce the delusions. "The deal" they offer is that "If you lie to me and tell me how wonderful I am, I will lie to you back." Somewhere, in another thread here, someone is defending the viability of paying someone 2 cents per minute, which works out to $1.20 an hour. If they insist that this is a legitimate way to make money consistently enough, to enough people, eventually they will find someone to believe them. But not for long. Delusions always crash and fall apart into nothing when it collides with reality. Hiding reality from each other is the game that losers play, and it pisses them off when someone interupts their fantasy to give them a "reality check".

That is all. Normal (retarded) programming resumes.

You are taking it too seriously, smarty! Take care of your heart... TheAuthor is only trolling this forum I think. Let him give us one link to his 10+ bestsellers and then we all shall belive in his words. Till then, he will get those responses...

Well, it does. If you put in 30 mln and you trade with a leverage of 80 and the stock goes down 20% you make 480 mln profit.

It may surprise you, but hardly any author publishes his book "as is". That's what editors/translators are for. So you can write a book in whatever level of English/German/French/Spanish and hand it over to an editor/translator, who will turn it into perfect English or Hindi.

What would that change to the discussion if I was Stephen King or Rowland?? (I'm not :) )

I thought people here would be a bit more inventive. As someone mentions , committing a crime that turns in 500 mln (with a plausible scenario) is not the difficult part. The difficult part is the exit strategy. How do you turn 500 mln that is sitting in a legal bank account, into money you can spend without leaving a trace?

As for the non-believers: I'm working on this novel for the last 2 months, and have the plot almost complete (and started writing already). As someone pointed out, this thread (and some others in other forums) is just to verify if people can shoot some holes in the details. And for the moment I haven't seen any. That's fine with me. Keep up the good work :)

In 2011 a judge in Missouri's rewarded $10 million to Nancy Lopez for her asbestos claim against a company. You may "invent" a punishable or sue-able crime in future. Then go along with insurance, fake identity, fake death etc

I don't see what this has to do with the 'perfect crime'. She just sued a company in court and won. However... thinking about it. You could think of a criminal organisation that convinces a large company to do something borderline or illegal. For example, convincing the tobacco companies to put something in their cigarettes that makes them even more addictive. The company falls into the trap. The criminals keep all the records (within inside help) of what is going on in the company. And then, after a couple of years, they sue the company for 500 mln, in a completely legal way. Interesting twist......

To make money untraceable crooks can buy everyone in the country a pizza delivered with the donation message on the box. Donation goes back to crooks.

its traceable still. If he plans a perfect crime and since in fact he is very knowledgeable in cyber space and knows his craft, he will sure go for cryptocurrency instead. very untraceable can be withdrawn anywhere as well.

To continue with my own scenario, the second question can be resumed as: 'how to make the 500 mln in the trading account legal? One other scenarion I thought of was the following : The crooks would setup a real/fake mining company and operate it for a year. Creating fake certificates for diamonds that they find. Then, after a year, they would sell their (non existing) diamonds to 'a company'. And they would have (fake) proof of the transaction where they delivered the (invented) cargo against 500 mln. The ones that track the criminals would investigate the buying company, but of course fall on fake identities. But the crooks, still under false identities, have now earned their 500 mln in a 'legal' way. Feel free to shoot holes in this.

I'd go with a dystopian future were relations between countries are strained and a group of 'criminals' who planned on a smaller easier payout got more then they bargained for. Thus they have to make all kinds of deals with rich, corrupt foreign leaders obtain their payouts which could lead to endless interesting conflicts between the criminals and different countries, even to increasing conflict between countries. no one wants to read a story about a robbery were everything worked out perfect. I like the idea of offering fake services through mineral rights or w.e. other services, but I don't think that would work without the help of corrupt or incredibly relaxed government.
