After I saw the first beheading video that was on the net and everyone was talking about on the news around 4 or 5 years ago, I now refuse to watch shit like that now. Back then I could not stop thinking about the video on a daily basis and how the guys holding him down were struggling to cut the mans head off while you could hear him gargling. How the fuck could some do something like that. There's my rant to shit that scares me, if you have the option, don't watch them or look for vids like that.

i watched one of those 'faces of death' videos.... brrr!
saw a girl get hit by a train; saw a guy get stabbed in the throat; saw someone get hit
by falling debris; saw the "guest of honor" at a firing squad; saw an iranian decap vid (ala nick berg).
hollywood makes it look simple and neat, but it's not like that in the real world.

I liked Frailty some good twists in that movie. Doom generation was good when I was a teenager, not so much a scary movie though. As far as scary I remember the Poltergeist movie scarying the hell out of me when I was a little kid... to this day I get uncomfortable with ghost movies.. gore, things jumping out suddenly, etc. doesn't phase me a bit.

Evil Dead 2 is my all time favorite.
And luckily the director Sam Raimi has gone back to the horror genre. This looks pretty damn scary.

I usually don't get scared at scary movies but the Exorcist was not only scary but it was disturbing. I saw that movie at night and while I was driving home, I kept looking at my back seat to see if shit was going to happen.

I have the worst luck, I have the knack of being at he right place at the wrong time and seeing some of the worst stuff in my life. Luckily I have also had the courage to save a few lives.
I never see scary movies, reminds me of what I have seen. these are a few that haunt me.
here is a small list, and I have been witness to it from start to finish:
seen a man get hit by a tow truck, thrown so hard his shoe's came off, he died 7 days later.
seen a guy on a motorcycle loose his head ( yep right off ) when a piece of metal came off a truck.
seen 2 girls ( in the back seat ) die and 2 boys stagger away, when they wrapped up there mustang on an oak tree.
seen 4 people dead ( teens ) when there izzu ( sp? ) jeep rolled over, they looked like rag dolls until they were tossed out.
saw a truck roll in front of me and crush a VW rabbit, someone dead
I see accidents all the time, it never fails. Grimmy ( my pet name for DEATH ) always presents me with a new view on how it's going to happen.
now the happy stuff;
the driver of the tow truck, raced off, I caught him by playing chicken, he stopped.
the motorcycle kept going, I got behind ( for some reason to this day I picture Ghost Rider ) and slowed traffic, then when it went crashing, I blocked the road, EMT picked up the head.
the 2 girls, I spoke to them until EMT arrived, both died before the firetruck got them out, at least they heard a voice that was calming and peaceful. the 2 boys, I had the cops arrest them for the booze in the car (open bottles ).
the 4 bodies I covered with my beach towels, my oldest daughter did not know what was going on, and my ex-wife kept her busy. the first cop at the scene gave me a pad to write everything down and I wrote it well, down to how the tire lifted and the angle of the flipping.
like this there are more, I just see them all the time, to the point where I can almost predict it when I am driving.
I dislike scary movies a lot

the scariest horror movies are the ones based in fact, such as henry portrait of a serial killer.
the truth about some humans is much more disturbing than any fictional horror story.
BTW, regarding the faces of death movies, 90% of that footage is fake/staged stuff. Back in the day it looked real, but watch it again, its very noticably phony, and its been pretty much acknowledged by everyone involved in the making of those movies that its all staged. they are remaking it also, btw

The only movie that ever bothered me was the movie of the guy cutting his dick off.. and not because it was gorey or "scary" it was because.. you just don't do that.. idk wtf would possess you to wake up one morning and do that.
As for real life experience, I've seen stuff, I was in the Army, and it honestly doesn't bother me. I'm not a sick fuck, I don't enjoy it.. it just doesn't bother me.. I never got PTSD or any psychological problems or systems, things just never bother me.
I've never actually seen this Faces Of Death every one keeps mentioning though, I'd have to check it out if it's around anywhere.

i actually love horror movies and could list a few. like the rush it gives me. but the "real" clips like faces of death i could never stomach. will not watch that. hell, i cant even watch when they slow down the sports clips to show the injuries of football players. weak stomach there.
the horror genre is hurting though. the new friday the 13th was not good. last house on the left was good, but nothing new. serial killer movies do nothing for me anymore even though the first one i saw scared the sh*t out of me. it was called "the town that dreaded sundown". true story of a serial killer in texas that was never caught. i watched it a few years ago and almost fell asleep.
ghost and haunting movies are cool, but they need to come up with some new tricks.
though no one mentions it (and surely not close to being my favorite), "blair witch" was brilliant because it was a gradual building of tension that ended at the most tense and horrifying moment in the movie. boring as hell until the last 20 minutes. but the last 20 were brilliant. i left that theatre thankful that i watched it during the day.

I have a movie I would like to add, it's not exactly scary per say, it's korean with english sub (at least I believe it's Korean?), it's called Silk, it has a really good story. I loved it.
It's kind of hard to explain it's genre, maybe something like sci-fi horror/thriller ?

Holy Crap dude! How do you have that luck? You have visions on where to be at the wrong time? Where do you live cuz I think I might be afraid to run into you? I'm an ICU RN so I see some crap but I can still chill with a horror movie. Cool vampire movie I saw was the Swedish "Let the Right One In".

back when I was young, it was fantasism and alien. the first resident evil i thought was good too. too bad they couldn't do some good remakes instead of 'fantasism 11' or something...i think they did tried one with fantasism, but kind of stunk...

Maybe not the "scariest" but definitely tripped out and intense thrills:
the WARLOCK - (15th century warlock in 1980's America - SLICK)
SUSPECT ZERO - (serial killers being hunted and murdered - COOL)
IDENTITY - (Psychopath butchering stranded hotel guests many plot twists- AWESOME!)
SKELETON KEY - (Voodoo, reincarnation, creepy, ending is intense and twisted)
SAW - (surely everyone has heard of SAW?)
the RING - (I was blown away by the eerie creepiness, had to buy it)
PHANTASM (producers were definitely smoking some killer reefer while making this flick)

Faces of death is just plain sick and weird. My wife wanted to rent the box (yes they have made a box) but I forbid her...
And that soldier who get the throat cut open.. I saw that one too... It was on a video site and the title was just "hilarious" so I clicked to watch it and I don't think I ever felt so sick after watching anything online.
Else I love a scene from Alien 2. It makes me jump every time even though I know what's coming. It's the scene where they walk into the lab and find the aliens in the glass tubes who assumes to be dead and then BLAM!!! One of them is still alive and hit the tube glass. That scene is awesome.
Another film I dreamt nightmares about for years was Swamp Man (think that's the name...) I saw it when I was some 4-5 years old or so at a friends home and then had to walk alone home through a small forest (I grew up in a safe country where children can go out and play and walk alone) pretty late in the year so it was all dark. I couldn't sleep right for several nights and I could wake up from nightmares dreaming about that film a couple of years after.
I also saw Phantasm when I was kind of small and had nightmares about the tall guy. But scary films today... Other things is scary. Documentaries and news broadcasts can be hell of a lot more scarier then any horror film.
