I have a client that I did some local SEO for. He got ranked pretty nicely, but since then he has been getting around 3 to 5 calls a day, all different numbers.
They claim to be Google saying if he doesn't pay them for a listing nobody will see him on Google anymore.

I told him it is just a scam but is there anything he can or I can do to help stop these people from calling?
I'm assuming this type of scum doesn't give two shits about the do not call list.

What would you do?

Not much you can do, really.

The 'authorities' certainly aren't going to do anything about it, and you can't do anything about it, so - nothing more to do.

Just tell him to hang up immediately and that there's nothing you can realistically do to stop them, just like with any telemarketer.

Have the client say that his Agency handles all inquiries. That usually shuts them down.

That happened to one of my clients. They called my client saying they were from Google, Avvo (my client's a lawyer), and all kinds of other companies trying to offer a variety of services.

Like the others said, you can't stop them from calling, so just tell your client to ignore them.

Just tell your client to troll the scammers, this way your client has some laughs and the scammers go away for sure ;)

Tell your client to ignore the calls, we can't help or stop them

If the calls are coming from the same numbers try and get them blocked - otherwise just like a lot of other people here have suggested as soon as they call and your client knows its them - hang up.
