Scammed on Flippa. How are they getting clickthroughs?

I purchased a site on flippa a few days ago and was my first time impulse purchase and yup I got burnt.

The site is getting traffic from the previous owner's Twitter and FB accounts and monetizes with Adsense. The first two days after I purchased the site I was getting Adsense income as claimed but since then although I'm still getting the same traffic no clicks on the ads.

How did the previous owner get the twitter followers to actually click on ads?

Flippa should start charging an indemnity fee to protect
people when they buy a lump of sh1t.
The trouble is that it would probably be prohibitively expensive.
How do you pay for flippa sites? Can you claim from paypal or chargeback?

I'm so fed up with that place. Alot of people that contact me have already been burned on there. I think they are in on the scam. They are making so much money from the listing fees and upgrades that if they cleaned it up over there they would start losing money.

I'm thinking of start my own were all the sites are checked beforehand to make sure everything is accurate. but they are so large not sure if it's even worth it to try

Well, if they were real clickthroughs, what else do you expect from the same twitter followers and facebook friends? Those who were interested clicked already. You need more fresh traffic. Adsense needs constant new traffic.

Its been long known that the majority of Flippa sites are not good buys. All you can expect is to buy a brand new site - period. Do not think you're going to buy a cash machine - who is going to sell that?

There are a few gems but they cost big money.

I found a gem of only $6.50 almost a year ago. The site is for a social event celebrated like 2 months ago. To this day, I am amazed of the profits that this site has produced. I visit flippa often hoping to find another one, but this is going to be impossible.
