On fiverr, about a month ago, I hired a wordpress expert. I made an agreement, through email that I would pay him $100 to complete a site for me. He seemed to be doing a good job from the looks of it. I hired him, all was going well..

I had to go into hospital, to have an operation. So I held off on fiverrr, and other stuff. As my health is more important.

I come back to fiverr, and email the guy about making the finishing touches, and he is now asking for more money. He knows the website is not completed. He even sent me invoice before work was completed. Now he wants more money!

I am so annoyed, that we made an agreement, now he has had the money and spent it, he want's more.

I really need advise on how I proceed with this, as it really has got me furious!

If you made payment via fiverr than you can ask for refund or contact support team. Buyer always win.

Even after he has already sent invoice? I suspect the reason for his behavior, is he has had his money now for the job, and he has enjoyed his money. However, he is not sticking to what was agreed. I don't feel it's fair. :(

report him on fiverr and provide the screenshots of payment from paypal to the staff

This is not true. I have received junk completion of work. So I decided to contact support and got my money refunded even he delived his work.

To OP so you better to contact support and ask for refunds asap.

well, if you 2 made the deal inside fiverr, you can always get a refund or report him to the support, however if you made a deal outside fiverr, in that case fiverr can't help much in getting back your money at least directly, but if it was a paypal payment, you can still try to dispute through paypal which you may win or not, but he did part of the work, so that wouldn't be too nice, you just need to force him somehow to finish the job

but even if you made the deal outside fiverr and if the seller has a somewhat reputed account on fiverr which he doesn't want to lose, you can try to "blackmail" him saying that you'll report him to fiverr for going behind their backs, in case if he doesn't complete the job for the price you both agreed to before, dealing outside fiverr is a bannable offense, 2 possible outcomes: 1. he gets frightened and complete the job, 2. he doesn't care and more than likely if he gets banned, you'll get banned too, but you can always make a new account as a buyer

edit: wait, i just re-read your post, if he sent an invoice, you obviously dealt outside fiverr, so you can try the "blackmail" approach

make sure you give him a bad review so other people do not fall into the trap

I have held back on the negative review, as I have tried to give this guy every opportunity to deliver. However, he doesn't seem to care, which got me annoyed. Prior to the job, fast response. Whilst money was in fiverrs hands, he was making changes. He then sent me invoice, before work was completed.

I did not think there would be any issue, I have gave him every opportunity to rectify it. So annoying why people do this... i was offering him more work in future. I think I shall be giving a wide birth now!

I believe the term is "He has had his cake, and ate it" now to him, since he has had the money for this, he could not care less.

I really do hope fiverr can resolve this. I will be emailing there support now, I will be in touch with the outcome.

Thanks for the support guys.

Wow hassles on a $100 website. And on Fiverr to boot. That has never happened before and I doubt anyone saw that coming.

It's not the money, it's the principle. It's unacceptable.

just ask for a refund ...they're very supportive of buyer on there

Fiverr is sometimes tricky when it becomes more than a "fiver" and you really shouldn't disappear in the middle of a deal. You might be better off and get what you need by paying the guy for the finishing touches (which, by the way, take 90% of the time in most cases).
