Scammed by ExtraCode

I should have seen this coming, and have been waiting and waiting for this guy, who just wasted my time, and money.

I made a thread about 2 weeks ago asking someone to make me a good squeeze page for list building.

After a couple of hours I got a PM from this dude who said I should add him on Skype. I was a bit skeptical about it, as he is a new member, but I was really eager to get started, so I thought: Why not.

He asked for $100 sent as gift, which got me worried, but he showed me previous work done and proof of that + he was very nice to talk to. After I sent him the money he helped me with hosting + setting up an email to my domain.
At this point I was very happy. He did exactly what I was asking for, and he was very very friendly.

However, shit was about to go down. He seemed very VERY lazy when he was about to setup and actually MAKE the squeeze page. So lazy that I actually ended up buying my OWN design so he could upload it and customize the site to work with my aweber code (opt in form).

It took DAYS for him to respond, and after I told him he has 24 hours to complete, or I would ask for a refund he got his ass moving.
Now the site wasn't mobile optimized, so he asked for ANOTHER $50. At this point the site was working, but looked terrible, no proper thank you page. The design was messed up, and I was really not satisfied.
He kept logging in and out on Skype, and he ignored me several times.

The Skype log is LONG so I took screenshots of the most important parts. I can provide the FULL Skype log if needed, no problem:


















He removed me from Skype afterwards, and have NOT replied to my PM's either warning him about me creating this shitlist.

I paid him a total of $150 to complete this job, and he failed to do so. I refuse to respond hence why I had to make this thread to warn others of this guy.

and worth noting, he posed as me to 1 of the other BHW members so they thought i had scammed them, screenshot for what he asked me to do which i know im stupid and shouldnt have agreed (that member knows its not me now);Attachment 64059

I hope he doesn't scam anyone else as he was very convincing on the phone and by conversation.

ExtraCode has been notified he has 48 hours to respond.

@4ContactUK, sorry that your attachments were lost - this is the 2nd time I've seen this recently in a SL. If they are needed, you can repost them. To be honest, I'll be surprise if ExtraCode even responds.

I got a request on skype. He said he can do it in $250. I asked him to provide his BHW Account. He provided me 4ContectUK's profile link. To verify i pmed him that if he is the same guy i'm talking over skype with. He responded with yes. Checked his Itrade. And paid through paypal. He asked me to send money as friends/family. But i refused to do so and said i will cover the paypal fees. After Receiving payment he said he is going to start working on my project. Will update me once website and popup will be ready. Next day i pmed him but got no response. And then after few hours he removed me from his skype. I pmed 4ContactUK to know the reason. Because i was under impression that 4contactUK is that guy i'm dealing with.

He told me he is also got scammed with same guy. and showed his real account.

So some random guy who joins BHW just days earlier asks you to confirm to a Jr VIP that it's really you that he's talking to and you agree????? I can't understand why you or anyone in their right mind would do that without mentioning it wasn't your skype account, but someone else instead.

I'm just not getting why people would trust someone that just joined enough to vouch for them and send them money... Week after week we are getting these posted and yet, the next week comes and more members are doing exactly the same thing that the foolish members did the week before.

In either case, I'm not even going to bother waiting on this. It's obvious what happened.

ExtraCode is perma-banned. I would be tempted to give an infraction or temp ban to 4ContactUK for falsely vouching for someone he didn't know but being that he too was monetarily scammed, I feel he's paid his price.

Every time I see a ShitList thread about someone who got scammed by a new member I think the same thing.

It's astounding how people can be so gullible!

Looking at the history, when ExtraCode contacted you, his account was 2 days old and he had made 3 posts - what were you thinking?!

It was obvious he was a scammer from the start.

I feel sorry that you got scammed, but you might as well have given your money to a stranger in the street and trusted that he'd be back in a couple of days with your completed job.

If not, then someone ought to at the very least make a sticky labeled "DO NOT TRUST NEW MEMBERS." It should come naturally, but a lot of people seem to be naive and far too trusting.

Thank you oldsalt for banning him. But as i was not aware that he is a new member. According to me i was talking to 4ContactUK and paid him $250 but in real he was ExtraCode. Now to whom i should ask to give back $250.. :/

It is a bit of a joke now, starting not to feel sorry for people that get scammed like this, as this has been going on for sometime and people just act foolish.
The same scammers are getting banned and starting new accounts just because they know they will get some naive people to send them money on a 1or2 day old account.
Check their post history at least and guaranteed they will be replying to numerous HaF and WtB threads. This is easy money for those scamming clowns.

I suspect this account is related to ExtraCode's account.

Reason: Because Extracode have only one positive itrade score which is left by a user Tails (Who is banned). Tails have one negative and one positive itrade which is posted by Sasjones. and words are similar in all itrades. May be this guy creating lots of fake accounts and leaving itrades for each other.

I don't have any proofs that this is the same guy but can be a group of people. So BEWARE.

Amazing how people tend to repeat the same mistake of getting scammed by hiring members who joined recently. It would be better to toughen the limits of newbies (with post count or time period) from posting in HAF section. Most of the newbie related scam happens in this section and is a paradise for scammers.

Try to get a refund from paypal ,sometimes they understand.

I know i'm an idiot, this is the first time its happened to me, lesson learnt, never again. I thought i was being helpful and didnt think before i acted. Sorry i wasted OldSalt's time.

Sorry to say this, did someone just got paid to say "yeah"? Need more investigate into this matter.

next time when dealing with someone on skype make sure you tell them to send you a pm from their profile on bhw to confirm it is them..
