Scammed by Abercrombie

This is in relation to the thread: WANTED: A few good eBayers. I do all the work and you make money. It's that simple really.

It's pretty unfortunate that I have to add this user to the shitlist given his long history and rep here.

On 9/23 I let him list 3 itmes on my ebay account and the first day two of them had sold. A day later a 3rd one sold which all together came to about $1200.

I then sent the money (how stupid of me) to Abercrombie to have them shipped from his supplier. The shipping time was estimated to arrive on Oct 1st-4th for these items. It is now the 5th and I got two messages so far from angry buyers wanting to know where their item is.

Now this all happened when Abercrombie was still around and online. The next couple days after these items sold, he listed 3 more items on my account and those all sold within a day or two as well. I received all payments for them and was waiting to send Jason (Abercrombie) the money to have them shipped.

But for some reason Jason has been missing and no where to be found for a week now. You can check his profile here and notice that as well and he has not been responding to e-mails or messenger for a week as well. This is obviously time sensitive stuff that needed to be taken care of right away. I had no choice but to refund these last three buyers their money back since he was no where to be found and could not have them shipped.

So now that he is MIA and not responding and those first 3 buyers are wondering where their items are. It is clear that they are not going to be shipped and Jason just took off with the money. Any day now I will be getting disputes from paypal I'm sure demanding their $1200 back. Which means I would owe $1200 from my own pocket.

I still can't believe he would do this. I guess I was stupidly blinded by his reputation here. I guess my next step after I get these disputes will be to contact the authorities in his area for fraud.

If anyone else knows anything I can do or maybe you possibly know this guy or you are doing a JV with him as well right now can you please let me know.

I kinda wrote this fast and not sure if I missed anything. I will come back and edit as I find out more info.

I was doing this JV with Abercrombie. I haven't seen him online for the last week either.

I'll let you know if he pops up online. I don't know him personally..

Sucks it has ended like this - he has such a good rep on here. I hope he shows up and makes everything right.

Anyone else know him?
 
I hope it's not true but honestly the a true scammer will build up trust in a community for a long time, then come up with some get rich quick scheme where they make you believe that if you don't jump on it you're missing out, then they take money from multiple victims.

Sad....
 
he probably moved on to a different forum to scam.. Somebody can search his ad in google to see if it get any hits
 
That clown got me for $200 in that ebay scam selling cologne. The guy had rep here and someone actually vouched for him so I partially went for his gig. I had my doubts so I protected myself somewhat. Told him i would only do a few auctions and see how the process worked before committing. 2 auctions sold and they were both overseas which was a concern so I canceled the other auctions. He wanted the money after a few days and I told him once they are received, I would send the money. Then the flags came up.

Red Flag#1 - He says his computer broke and he had to buy a new one so he didn't have the money to dropship the product. I told him he had to have a credit card so it didn't matter. After some more talk, I agree to send half the money even though I am skeptical.

Red Flag#2 - The guy doesn't have Paypal or eBay and he use some Green Dot card which does't have any protections for the sender of the money.

At this point, I was probably a little more than 50/50 this joker was a scammer but figured he would wait until we sold a lot more before trying to make a big killing instead a measly $200 bucks. I was going to terminate him after this deal regardless of this outcome. I almost told him to bag it but the guy is a good, real coniving scammer, no doubt. Probably in debt or has a drug problem.

So I figured I would do it, $200 wasn't going to make or break me. I since refunded the 2 eBay orders. Lesson learned. Sorry, some of us paid the price.

Folks, pay attention to those red flags.
 
He Was Looking for 5 JV Partners

Halfway Down thread Someone Say's > "why would a power seller need you?
"wanted Millionaire to work $5 per hour for me."

He Responds: "I am not looking for a power seller and I am not looking for anyone to "work for me" beyond a few minutes a day. Read the thread, short bus."

Start of Thread CLEARLY STATED > "require 10,000 feedback and power seller status to list in without limitations."

Sound's Like Some Suave Conman, With Hyped up Sale's Letter Promising Heap's then run's off with money made using 5 JV's

What His Doing, he wouldn't need this kind of JV UNLESS he Truly MUST have a Powerseller Account Due to the Method. but then He did go & say Half way in the Thread, "I am not looking for a power seller"

Contact police in his area. If I remember correctly any fruad over 500-600$ can be filed and taken care of. Get him!

He claims his name is Jason Burch. I do not have his address though.
 
i've already pmed Moto801 yesterday with the address of Abercrombie's webdesign site, where he can find a bunch of phone numbers and skype too, and if he do a whois search he can find out his name and address, i guess Moto801 already done this
i don't think Abercrombie used fake info there, it's a legal business, but i won't put his personal info here as it's not allowed

it's still hard to believe for me that he'd become a scammer, but the evidents are talking against him...his only excuse what he could have if he's in a hospital right now

(i had a small JV with Abercrombie a few months ago, there was no money involved, i've posted a few classified ads for him promoting his webdesign site, there was a bunch of other guys here who did this JV with him as well, the guy seemed to be OK for me, however our "project" hasn't lasted too long because it wasn't too successful)

sorry to hear this but I did suspect this. He didn't respond to my question with regard to "if he is legit then why would n't he want to work with a powerseller". He never replied and this was a BIG RED flag for me ( being a powerseller on eBay I have come to know all these scams).

Moto801, what type of products was he listing ?
 
That Slick Motherfuc*in scammer! I wish the worst for him ;) 1200$ is over the top
 
if you work on freelancer boards there are pretty often guys like that...don't do such weird JVs
 
There has been another guy who contacted me and said Abercrombie took $2000 from him doing the same thing. He also said he sent him they money via bank wire.

He said he will be here to explain his story as well.
 
i know how you feel man.

i was scammed by a a few reputable jr.vips and even a exec-vip in the past.

hope you get this resolved soon..
