Scaling Instagram with Mother/Child – Proxy Setup Advice Needed

Hey everyone,

I've been running a main Instagram account that just hit 100k followers organically (no paid ads, no fake engagement). Now I'm looking to scale using the mother/child method—planning to create a network of child accounts to drive more traffic to the main.

I’ve done a ton of research, but I still have a couple of questions I’d rather hear real experience on:

1. Proxies – I know I’ll need good proxies to manage multiple accounts without getting flagged. Is it better to buy mobile proxies, or can I set up my own? If so, what’s the best route for that (raspberry pi, USB modems, etc.)?
2. Providers – If I go the buying route, can anyone vouch for a reliable provider that works well with IG in 2025? Not looking to waste money testing sketchy services.

Also open to any tips on how many child accounts you’re running safely per proxy and any tools or setups you recommend.

Appreciate any guidance. Trying to do this smart, not spammy.

My suggestion is to run accounts on your phone directly with Mobile Data. No Proxies are needed. You can run max 3-5 Accounts very safely on the data, no tensions at all.

But I’m looking to scale much bigger than 3–5 accounts. I’m talking 50–100+ child accounts eventually, possibly even more, plus creating multiple mother accounts to build a proper network.

At that level, switching SIMs or using just my phone won’t cut it anymore, so I need a solid setup—either a DIY mobile proxy system or a trusted provider that won’t get me flagged after a few days.

Anyone here running larger-scale operations? I’d love to hear what’s working for you in 2025, especially with IG’s recent changes.

You could test Static ISP proxies for each account because as you said mobile proxies might be tough to scale

In that case, you would look at getting other accounts to help get to your profile. 4G proxies is what many agencies use when it comes to running 500+ accounts.

Yes, but it's too costly, that's why I thought there would be some alternatives, like to create them by myself.
