I’ve noticed whenever I increase daily spend on a working Facebook campaign, the performance tanks and sometimes the account even gets restricted. CTR drops, conversions vanish. Same creative, same audience. Does anyone know why scaling seems to trigger this so fast?

FB flags sudden spend spikes as risky. Even if your funnel is solid, going from $50 to $200/day in one step will almost always trigger algorithmic throttling or manual review. I usually scale 20–30% per day max and it keeps accounts alive longer.

Try splitting campaigns instead of raising one. Two campaigns at $50/day perform better than one at $100, and you avoid drawing attention from FB’s automation.

Also check audience overlap. If the same users see multiple ads at once while scaling, FB thinks something suspicious is happening. Separate audiences across campaigns to reduce that risk.

How broad is your campaign goal (how many people can you reach when you set it up in the ad group section?) and then how do you increase your budget? 20-50% for each increase?

Sometimes I test new accounts for higher budgets first, then slowly move the winning campaigns over.

What i did set fixed amount for 1 campaign with multiple ads, then check -4-7 days, monitor performance daily, after few days which work best then keep that live.
Pause all other ads, This way i don't need to edit budget. Ad working good.

Scaling too fast kills performance. Facebook algo resets when you make big jumps, so ctr + conversions tank. Safer play is some budget increases or horizontal scaling with duplicates. Keeps things stable and avoids restrictions.

Increasing the budget will naturally cause the campaign’s performance to decline, so you need to choose offers based on your profitability. Another tip is that if an ad set is effective, you should duplicate it instead of increasing the entire campaign’s budget. Facebook tends to prioritize campaigns with smaller budgets.

You increase your budget too quickly. Facebook resets machine learning, delivers quality, and flags easily. You should scale from (20–30% every few days) or duplicate ads to maintain performance.

When you scale your budget suddenly, your campaign will be out of optimal state, causing the delivery system to be chaotic, the audience file to be saturated, and performance to decrease.
Solution: increase the budget gradually, rotate creatives, and test new files.

Yes, many people have encountered the same situation as you when increasing their budget. Increasing too quickly can cause Facebook to serve your ads to less qualified people, reducing performance. Additionally, suddenly adjusting the budget to a large amount can sometimes be considered abnormal by the system, leading to account restrictions. It is best to increase gradually to maintain stable performance and avoid restrictions.

That’s a common issue — scaling too fast can trigger Facebook’s learning phase again, reset optimization, or even flag your account if spend spikes look suspicious. Try scaling gradually (10–20% every 2–3 days), duplicate the ad set instead of editing it directly, and monitor frequency + performance closely. Consistency beats speed with FB scaling

That’s a common issue — when you scale too fast, FB’s algo re-reviews the campaign and performance often drops, sometimes triggering restrictions. The usual fixes are:
  • Scale gradually (10–20% per step) or duplicate into new ad sets.
  • Use warmed/agency BMs to handle higher budgets more smoothly.
  • Rotate creatives/landers so algo doesn’t reset as hard.
