Save action more important than likes?

I've read in a publication that likes have lost recognition and now the "save publication" option is the most important to the algorithm. Does anyone knows if that's true? Does it gives you a better chance to appear in the explore page?

Yes. Save > Share > Comment > Like

That's interesting, thanks for the info.
And how do I get people to save my posts? Besides asking them of course. Are there engagement groups for saving pictures or something like that?

Just likes obviously don't make the cut, adding comments is a great option and if you can get to save, that's even better.
You can't obviously force them to save it, so either ask them or post something terrific/interesting that forces them to save it or just buy them from the marketplace.

yes, the new algorithm is all about relevant content. they first show your content to a small amount of your audience. if they like it it will be shown to others. so it's important to save, share, and comment in the first two hours.

I remember being told years ago, saves were very important by some users. I never saw evidence it was a panacea, but for sure it would be a part of a proper well rounded campaign
