Sape penalty?

SAPE penalties often get you nuked entirely. A +40 penalty looks like a soft penalty for unnatural link growth.

He is absolutely correct on this. It's ALL or nothing with SAPE.

You are bouncing. It usually takes 3-4 weeks IMO to see full effect of Sape links. Come back in a month and tell us where you stand. Way too early to tell anything.

I would stay away from SAPE.

Also everyday someone adds me on skype and tells me they have been penalized.

I ask them if they use SAPE and they all say yes.

I have also spoken to other people who used only SAPE links and they have also been hit.

To me, its pretty clear SAPE is being targeted right now, I would stay away for at least 1 month.
Yeah, I thought so but I thought the update might have buzzed off by now.

It is interesting because I also pointed 20+ links to my other site which is also ranking on the 2nd page, around the same time of adding links the site in question. It is interesting because it has not been hit and has been pretty stable. Now, I am not sure if it will catch fire in the upcoming days too but either way, it will be a pretty interesting observation to watch.

My main question (it seems you might have used or use sape links so it would be really helpful if you can answer this) is whether your sites suffer same notion too? What I mean is, like jumping from page 2 to page 6/7.

Hey, thanks for the opinion. Do these kind of penalties go away or improve? I mean like I said, I had one site towards August end (I cannot entirely confirm it was due to Sape as it just happened to be hit the very next day of adding sape links) first got hit in similar way, page 5 or 6. Today, it sits at 15+ pages which is good for nothing.

Takes months to go away. They do it so you can't keep testing quickly.

PS. IF it is a penalty. May be a dance or some downtime on your site....

Yes I've seen this before as well.

I use SAPE for AUTHORITY. Meaning high TF links pointed at site with nothing but brand or generic anchor. I've yet to see anything get penalized. Take what you want out of that.

To wrap this up....STOP WORRYING....Just take action and then analyze the results. ALWAYS wait at least a month with links to see the true effect. I've seen things drop out of top 100 and then reappear in top 3. It's google. Anything and everything is possible.

Good luck.

Yeah google is hitting SAPE daily right now.

In your case its too early to tell, it could possibly be dancing but I would give SAPE a rest for a while.

Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the reassurance guys. Definitely don't want to get hit for free or such a stupid thing where competitors are making bank of nothing but spam and crap links.

If you want to you things like sape, use them on domain which you can throw after a while. Bank hard while the ranking last and then start again with new domain.

I understand that and I am ready for it but the problem is getting it ranked in first place lol. This site too, I was ready to lose if I had ranked it on top 3 and at least had 3-4 months. But tripping just few days after pointing links (that too sitting on page 2 and almost like not existing to the world) sure shot boils the blood.

Yes, use SAPE links after the new google SAPE update and hope that everything turns out just fine...

Well, I believe in trying rather than believing in what everyone says. Like I said, I am hopefully but no problem even if it doesn't recover. Will learn something. Another site which used these links during the same time like I said above isn't touched as of yet. Might be a dance as people are saying above.

Thanks for the input.

Don't be disappointed if it didn't worked for first time. Keep experimenting.
Sape links are powerful but then rankings depends upon several factors.
Target less competitive keywords next time and mix sape links with other link types.

I think part of your problem is drip feed period. For 60 TF 20+ i would drip feed over a month not a week.

I didnt even notice this.

I think this might be your problem OP.

google seen the spike in links so now the algo will go all crazy on you.

I did this a few times, you just gotta wait it out.

I try to keep the maximum links coming in a day below 5.

If your site has a nice link profile already then you can do more.

For 60 links (if it's money anchor/long tail and 1 url) I would drip feed over 10 months.

Yeah, it had decent backlink profile already. What sort of jump did you saw (or dance) when you added huge amount of such links too? That'd be helpful if you could let me know that. Thanks.

Just not my cup of tea to wait 10 months to rank 1 site lol. I might as well start begging on the streets.

Not trying to discourage you or anything, me and my friend just got 1 site penalized.

The situation is pretty similar to your, drop from page 2-> page 4-5, just received an email from webmastertool and yes all web 2.0s, SAPE, PBN bookmark links busted =))

This site is only 1 month old, and yes we were quite aggressive in link building, that probably can be the reason.

Anyway, finger crossed for you man :D

2 sites of mine using sape went from mostly #1 to page 4-5. Registered for GWT and both had manual penalties.

How old they were? And in what niche in general (like health, gaming, etc)?

Haha, thanks and don't worry, all cool.

I don't use G or webmaster so no way to know. But my niche is little obscure to have like really manual penalty, it's in the gaming CPA niche which I doubt they moderate.
