Sandbox Nightmare

I'm mad, I lost yet another site to the sandbox (500+ in google). It seems that no matter what I do, whether I take it slow and easy or blast my sites in oblivion, they always eventually get sandboxed, always. 2 of my boxed sites are about to reach 1 year in the box. I gave up on those sites and haven't touched them since.

My most recent site was finally moving up on for a decent keyword. It was stuck on the second page after much quality and slow linkbuilding (BMR, high PR only, no SB spamming like I usually do, etc.). I then built some linknets/open linkwheels and used SB a little. I started to rise again and after a few days (today), I got boxed. I was about to start full on promote/linkbuild to that site today ArRHGHHGH

A little background on my sites:
They are all new domains/sites, I don't buy old domains or already established sites. All of them are under one IP (Shared hosting). All unique content. All are fully on-page seo'd with seopressor and some minor tweaks. All wordpress with slightly modified themes, I use a different theme for each. Pretty thin sites, usually 1-4 posts 500 words+. Sitemap, disclaimers add a bit.

The only thing I can really think of that might be directly contributing to my sites being boxed is that they are under the same IP. Perhaps another major thing could be the thin content, though I see 1 page sites on #1 all the time so I'm not too worried about that.



Does Anyone have any suggestions for how to get sites out of the sandbox (500+ in Google, 900+, last page, etc.)? I've tried building links to boxed/dead sites but they never budge even after months.

Do you use the same GA account on all your sites and/or do you log into different accounts with the same IP?

I might try that sometime but at this point I don't feel like starting yet another site from scratch.

Nah I don't even want Google on my site. No Adsense, Analytics, nothing. I do log into the wordpress backend with the same ip.

Where would you be able to buy cheap aged domains?

Do you use Chrome or G toolbar?

A problem could be if you have been in bad standing with a website, that G monitor your ip address related to your new website. I don't know, but staying away from all g apps are in general a good thing.

I had my first site in sandbox for over 3 1/2 months. It just came out of it today. I remember I was so piss'd I didn't wanna look at it. Never built a single link in the meantime. The only thing I did was post a short plr rewrite a couple of weeks ago. Sure enough, like everybody here always says, it came back even stronger. Now, I don't know if this was just a coincidence or what.

I never built more than 10 links a day for that site, like ever. And most of them were article directory links. So I don't think it has anything to do with link velocity or sh*t like that.

I hope they return dude.

No offense but I think something is missing here on there details. I have about 20 sites per IP, I have never been sandboxed for more than a few weeks and I have blasted sites directly if the competition is really easy. As soon as I hit the sandbox I start building only quality links and 2.0 properties along with adding unique content.

Congrats, man! Oh I tried that already, I put some new content on my site and then added a few BMR links to that, didn't do anything either (old site). Been about 9 months now, haven't built any more links to that site. My new site was handled with more care and I didn't blast it yet it got sandboxed anyway (today), grr.

In all Matt Cutts videos when talking about rankings he often explains a change in Google's ranking system and says that "this has been a purely algorithmic change" which suggests that there is other manual changes to rankings.

I pften think that adding adsense to your website may prompt a manual review. There are definitely manual reviews of adsense sites which result in penalties. But I don't know if the adsense guys may also submit reports to the webspam team.

As always, I can not prove this but it is a hunch I have and believe.

That's most likely true. But honestly I don't even know whether my keyword (for the new site) is considered competitive enough to warrant manual reviews. Besides I didn't even break past page two.

No offense taken, what information would you like to know about my newly sandboxed site?

Ah, I usually give up now after two weeks of quality linkbuilding. I don't really bother to add anymore content though.


So from this morning until right now (night for my timezone), my site moved down in the rankings from 540 to 660. This is a huge disappointed and setback for me. I have no idea what I am going to do now. FFF

You can go to Name.com and check out their expiring domains. Some decent ones to be had there sometimes, prior to expiration, for like $29.95 or something.

UBER FAIL. 1-4 posts site + linkwheel links & other low quality links => BIG FLAG OF GOOGLE APOCALYPSE

And they never stick there. They always drop in oblivion.

Tips:

1. No AdSense on multiple related sites (not even if u don't interlink them)
2. Interlinked sites - cloak all affiliate IDs or use different IDs if possible (can be done with Amazon)
3. No Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, or any other Google service.
4. Minimum 20 pages of content.
5. Tag pages in WordPress with n0index (or u get lots of dupe pages and lower traffic)
6. Varied anchor text for the links. Very varied. And also use generic words (e.g. "read more", "click here") and the actual http://mysite.com URL for a big chunk of the links (20%+) especially the low quality/spammy/automated ones. This is one of the biggest mistakes people do.
7. Always interlink from within the post text. Never use site-wide links / footer links / blogroll.
8. Do NOT use link wheels. You can build free blogs / web 2.0 properties but try to mimic how people naturally post to those properties and when you interlink them, do it randomly/chaotically but at the same time in a relevant manner.

I'm in the same predicament as you. In the past 3 weeks I have invested 700 dollars into a link building campaign for one single domain. I have 3.2k indexed backlinks in Yahoo Site Explorer and it's been increasing about 300 everyday.

I became sandboxed at the 1.5k indexed backlink mark. I was previously page 15 for my main keyword but then I disappeared. It's a year old domain so it shouldn't be disappearing.. Although i started building backlinks to it after a year of owning it. You know domain age is important but so is the age of your backlinks.

It's been said before and I have seen it happen on my own sites that the niche you are trying to dominate has a lot to do with whether or not you rank right away or if you get sandboxed for months. I'm sure Google would set limits to how fast a website can rank for a keyword that potentially could earn the website owner thousands of dollars.
