Hello forum :)

I am planning to buy a new phone the next days as a Christmas gift to myself and i am between these two phones. I would like to here some reviews and recommendations from people that maybe have them.
I like all the specs that note 2 haves but the super big size is killing me as i want it most to be able to do my online working even if i am outside.

The Note 2 is a much better phone then the iphone 5 or the S3 but its size isn't that good for the average person. Wired gave it a 5/10 compared to a 9/10 for the iphone 5,but it was obvious that they are Apple Fanboys from this comment

Overall, the iPhone 5 feels like the logical next step, an extension of an ecosystem that's already in full flight. Though it will inevitably happen, I can't imagine Apple improving the hardware any further. Everything just feels right, from the screen to the performance to the phone's physical presence. The only real things to complain about are the problems with iOS 6.

How can a writer at a tech review blog not know what Apple needs to do to improve the hardware vastly,its so simple its funny. A 1.6-1.8Ghz quadcore cpu in the Iphone 5s or Iphone6 would be a huge improvement over the 1.3Ghz dual core in the Iphone 5. As well as tech to improve charging time.

Yes this is my only problem in my head. Yes i will be able to connect to vps-computers-laptops easier but with a case its going to be so huge. :|
 
I love my S3, although I think it is slightly too big, not sure if I could get used to the size of the note. Definitely work handling both before purchasing in my opinion.
 
I love my Samsung Galaxy 3. It took some getting used to at first because I came from HTC Evo and I really loved that phone, it just didn't hve enough hard drive space. My friend has the Galaxy Note 2 and he really likes it. It's pretty impressive and fast. Just a bit too big for my taste.
 
The note 2 allows for the highest combined storage(96GB) of any phone on the market yet, 32GB on the phone already with support for up to a 64GB microsd card. Whereas the iphone 5 only has up to 64GB of storage depending on the model.
 
Wow, congrats man! I say go for the SIII. :)

Now I wonder when I'll be able to buy a gift like this for myself. :p
 
I am in the same boat. Can't decide . The note looks good but,like you,worried about the size
 
I just bought Note II and I think its the best phone. Fuck iPhone. I chose Note II over iPhone 5 and trust me you won't be disapointed

Between S3 and Note II? I tried both and I liked Note II because of the S Pen which is great for IMers as we can jot down ideas. If size is the issue u can always go for S3. Both are rocking phones.

Those who say the size is big have never used the phone. You will get used to it within a day and it fits my pocket easily
 
I have S3, love it but the size is big but you will get use to it. I think if your looking for something faster try the note II as with anything it takes time to get use to the size but eventually you will manage. The s pen is great from what a friend told me as well.
 
I'm getting Note2 for Christmas, can't wait.
 
Thanks everyone for the replys so far. In my mind i want Note 2 because of cpu - Ram - and bigger battery. But the big screen is fine but im afraid with a case the phone is going to be like a table :P
In 3-4 days i will go to a store and im searching all day on reviews and forums.
If anyone else have it please post as posts from people who own them are great help for me :)
 
iphone is nothing in front of note 2 , if your hands are of good length and you dont feel uncomfortable holding note 2 then you should buy S3 , but note 2 is way better than all

1)Its nothing like table..LoL! If you wear skinny jeans then maybe it will be a tight fit. If you wear loose jeans or normal ones then it will be just fine.
2) The battery is fucking huge. Its 3100 which is big and perfect.
3) It is a quadcore. No lag whatsoever till now.

If you are worried about the size then just go to the store and try putting in your pocket and sit down somewhere. If you feel comfortable then phone is perfectly fine for you..

One thing, you don't have to hold the phone everytime with 2 hands. There is inbuilt feature in Note where you can use ur 1 hand for typing or entering something(The keypad aligns itself to fit in one hand).

And its not that big once you get used to it. I bought it some 7 days back and within a day i got used to it and I love that size and phone is a beast

Yes i know about that feature but i dont like to use my phone with one hand so this will not be a problem :P
I am wearing loooooose jeans so again this will not be one.
I was at stores these days and tried both.Never put it in my pocket because they have them connected to some cables so you dont steal them :P but i think it would fit nice in my pocket.

The thing is i want it more to help me with my work and less like a phone so i think this is the phone for me. I continue to do research but as you said the battery + cpu + 2gb ram are the winners for me so far. I will see :)
