Back in about 2011 I did some SEO work on a low competition local business and a few low competition for adsense but when my local business seo took hold I got very busy and let the adsense site die .. (It ended with 55 bucks in the account which actually amazed me because I did very little other than write some technical content)
Fast forward to today and I have started a new website .. launched very recently and its been 18 days since I have really started to work at the site at all. I briefly ranked in google for my main keyword around 220 to 280 (somewhere in there) and ranked for a few pages I had made targeting weak keywords in my niche. They briefly ranked very deep around 200 as well. I ranked about a 2 weeks a go at around 150 in bing then jumped to 40 then recently jumped to around 9-11 which was good enough for the bottom of page one bing.
I still did not recieve any real traffic from it yet but it was nice to see. Today I dropped from bing from main keyword as well and still not showing up in google for main keyword (or any keyword unless I go crazy longtail).
I guess I just want to hear some thoughts ... I am guessing this is all normal and I will be showing up in the top 100 of google soon and working my way up from there. Also hoping soon bing quits dancing and I stay on page one somewhere. I am a little worried I used my main keyword in my links too much but I doubt it as I have built very few links so far. A few web 2.0s mostly. I am sure it is just too early to see much and I am being impatient but wanted to hear it from someone else.
