I currently have 2 websites in the same niche, on the same IP.

A links to B

I've now moved B to a new server, will As link now carry more weight?

Yes but I don't think it will be a noticeable improving in rankings...

Maybe if they were both authority sites? What if Coke suddenly linked to pepsi?

You're right but I was assuming the sites Glass23 was talking about weren't as authoritative as the ones you've mentioned.
