Safest ways to store crypto?

If your worried about exchanges stealing funds, you can store it in a private wallet (cold storage).
If you're worried about a hacker stealing your key you can write it down on a paper.
You should also consider multi-signature wallet.

If to speak about storing crypto like BTC - use a local wallet like electrum.
Create a SEED phrase - print it and then divide the paper into 2 parts.
Give the each part to a different trusted person(or store each part in different locations)

I know that a physical USB hardware or something like that is the best way, but let's suppose they won't ship it to my country

And we know that exchanges are the devil and they can take, freeze, steal, block or do whatever they want with your money

What are the alternative safest ways to keep some thousands of dollars in crypto?
definitely cold wallet like u said, if that's not an option.. you should look into electrum imo but do your own research.

NEVER keep your funds on exchanges, use them only for exchanges / trades etc and then move your funds back securely.

Like others said, cold storage is the best option. But if they don't ship to you, you can create a hot wallet that's just a little less secure than cold wallet. Create a wallet that's not connected to any website. Once created, write down your keys on a paper and get it laminated.

Then, store this laminated paper somewhere safe in your house. Copy the receiving address of the wallet (so that you can receive money without logging into the wallet) and then delete the app (metamask or trustwallet or whatever hot wallet app you used to create the wallet).

This is something I did a few years back when I didn't had the money to buy a cold wallet

alternatively can use non-custodial wallets such and Bitpay etc...

I store my crypto in a multi-signature wallet because it requires multiple approvals (signatures) to authorize a transaction. This adds an extra layer of security. I think its the safest.

The 2 safest ways are:
1. Use hardware wallets (Like Ledger, Trezor etc)
2. Use paper wallets
Never share your seed phrase. Write it down on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place.
